    No opinion of CEO

I worked at West Florida Hospital full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some coworkers are great workers. Usually have supplies so we can do our jobs

    Cons

Supervisors not knowing how to schedule or handle their employees. Supervisors don't back their employees.

    Advice to Management

Educate management. Give management classes. Don't abuse your good workers and make them pull all the weight while allowing others to show up when wanted and to disappear throughout the day.

I have been working at West Florida Hospital full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

It's a great environment with wonderful people. At the core, it is the people that makes this hospital so wonderful to work at.

    Cons

Within the Gulf Coast region overall nurse pay is relatively low when compared to other areas. WFH is not immune to such practice and is one of the lower paying off the three big local facilities.

    Advice to Management

Continue to listen to the people and take their advice regarding policies and procedures. Many believe in the hospital and what it stands for and are willing to do what's best for it's greater good.

I have been working at West Florida Hospital full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great culture Feels like a team, family Senior Leadership care about employees Committed to patient and family centered care Excellent outcomes demonstrating the clinical competence of staff

    Cons

Being part of a larger corporation such as HCA means information/changes come from people outside of the facility. While all changes are good, sometimes implementation is a challenge. However, having a huge network that spans the entire country is incredibly useful when benchmarking and learning best practices.

    Cons

The hospital is quickly becoming the hospital of choice in the community creating a need for more staff which takes time to recruit. Not a large pool of agency or PRN to help flex.
