I have been working at West Monroe full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

WMP is a great place to start your job. They offer a lot of learning opportunities and try to promote a work/life balance, especially for newer consultants. They also have a great new hire on boarding process that helps start your career.

    Cons

Staffing on projects can be difficult (somewhat a product of the industry)

    Pros

Great people at a fun company who care about their employees and co-workers

    Cons

Work can take up time outside of the traditional 40 hour work week, but nothing unexpected for the consulting field.

    Pros

Wonderful culture. Love to come to work every day. You can shape your career at WMP pretty much however you want. Say you want to do something else and they will bend over backwards to please you... sometimes to a fault.

    Cons

Company does a poor job at meeting market standard rates for compensation.

I worked at West Monroe full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people make this company. Resulting from an in-depth and rigorous hiring process, West Monroe truly hires the best and brightest from interns through management. Everyone I worked with at West Monroe was able to teach me something new and provide insights to make my work better. The encouragement of management to be involved and collaborative is tremendous and creates an environment of excellence.

    Cons

The path to promotion is a bit obscure and it's hard to figure out if you're doing the right things. Even when talking to the people who are helping advise your career at the company, it's a bit ambiguous. In the year I departed, though, there were changes to this process in the works so they knew improvements were needed.

I have been working at West Monroe full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Have been working here over a year and joined as an experienced hire from industry. All the colleagues I work closely with are excellent - good at their jobs and good people in general. The smaller size of WMP compared to the Big 4 allows for more responsibility on projects for those early in their career compared to big firms.

    Cons

The rapid growth can cause a bit of chaos and opacity in areas like staffing and internal projects. There is also an expectation that you work on many different things at once (business development, internal projects, interviewing candidates and client project work), which makes it feel a bit unfocused at times.
