I have been working at Westdale Asset Management part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Easy to learn. Manageable amount of tasks. Great regionals and treats employees well. I like the order of chain of command and the way information is shared.

    Cons

No benefits to part-time employees. I don't really feel like I can embrace that aspect since I am only part time.

I worked at Westdale Asset Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Timely pay, except after I left almost 2 weeks overdue. You get to learn some knowledge of leasing, the info you figure out for yourself

    Cons

Angry assistant manager and a revolving door of Property Managers. Employees are alway complaining about the company which provides for a hostile work environment, even if you address this with management nothing is done about it. After I quit, they still havent given me my final check(nearly 2 weeks have passed since payday). This all backs up my decision to leave this company. I highly do not recommend working here, run in the other direction!

    Advice to Management

Dont put people in power who like to steal your commissions and try not to place individuals in charge of training people who are not interested in training people. I wanted to work at this company to learn the on site portion of leasing but all I got was negativity and lack of compassion.

I have been working at Westdale Asset Management full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The regional supervisors and VP's are supportive and sincerely want to help their staff grow and succeed in the industry. Mutual respect and positive interaction have been my experience at Westdale. Whether I am speaking with someone in the HR Dept. or an immediate supervisor, I am confident being forthright through open communication and know that I will receive a fair and honest response/solution. Also, they have excellent engineers on staff that provide annual training and property inspections for the Maintenance Supervisors and Community Managers.

    Cons

Due to many long term employees, positions in management do not readily come available too frequently.

    Advice to Management

I am very proud to be a Westdale employee who really enjoys my job and loves the company.I appreciate all the training through Westdale University however, I think that the assistant managers should go to all the legal seminars as required by the managers.
