I have been working at Western Alliance Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working with an elite team of bankers, Never Micro-managed, No silos/Flat Management Structure, Progressive, Quick to adapt, Your voice is heard, And of course...Great Base salary, Quarterly Incentives, Annual Bonus, Annual Stock Awards. Not to mention...monthly birthday celebrations and the best holiday party ever.

    Cons

Hard to think of any. This is the best job I have ever had. Limited locations, so I have to commute, but it's worth it. There isn't much for training, but this is no place for beginners.

    Advice to Management

Don't sell out. Keep taking calculated risks. Keep staying one step ahead of the industry.

I worked at Western Alliance Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Close knit working environment Big Christmas/Holiday party Annual bonus

    Cons

Expensive benefits Lack of adherence to regulatory compliance Upper management will bend rules and regulations for clients with large balances Ownership of Bridge Bank (red flag after red flag from both clients and employees) Old technology When you quit, HR will ask you to leave a good review online (specifically on Glassdoor), because they are aware of their unfortunate reputation

    Advice to Management

Invest in technology and focus on internal compliance Instead of asking employees to leave good reviews online, maybe fix the issues that are causing employees to leave

I have been working at Western Alliance Bank full-time

    Pros

Management does a good job of staying in touch with their colleagues' needs and are sensitive to ensuring that opportunities for advancement are available. Annual reviews are done in a timely manner and salary increases appear to be commensurate with performance. The bonus structure is competitive and includes an annual bonus available to all colleagues based on bank performance measures. Was also very impressed with the salary evaluation and increases to lower salaried individuals given the recent changes in the tax structure. Annual conferences update the management on performance of the bank and innovation of products and services present and coming in the future. This information is then shared back through the workforce. While efficiency and growth is emphasized, management understands the importance of a balanced work/life structure further encouraging the staff to perform.

    Cons

Continued concentration on innovative e-banking products and services would be beneficial.

I have been working at Western Alliance Bank

    Pros

There are pockets of intelligent and capable people. So capable they carry the company on their backs doing 90% of the work. If you're smart, able to carry a heavy workload and are not easily frustrated by lack of recognition, this is an ideal work environment. Free coffee Annual bonus

    Cons

Poor benefits. Weak HR department. Senior management placed based on who they know and not what they know. Ineffective implementation of restructure and change due to haste, poor planning and incomplete execution.

    Advice to Management

Sr. Management, on the rare occasion you ask your employees questions, take the time to listen to the answers. Listen to your employees when they tell you something isn't working instead of turning a blind eye and a deaf ear. Doing nothing and hoping it fixes itself, isn't a solution; and waiting for one of a small core group of capable employees in another department to come in and fix it isn't a solution either.
