I have been working at Western Dental Services full-time

    Pros

I enjoy working here because of my coworkers. Everyone gets along which makes coming into work easier.

    Cons

The pay is horrible and corporate doesn't care and will just let you leave and train someone new rather than compromise an hourly pay with you

    Advice to Management

Care more for your employees. You pay them either minimum wage or a few extra dollars to do a job that requires a higher pay

I worked at Western Dental Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast pace teaches you to work quickly, variety of doctors and staff teaches you to adapt to any given situation, large patient flow teaches you to multitask in any given situation. Most training for dental assistants is all hands-on learning done through being thrown into situations.

    Cons

You're overworked and underpaid. A lot of doctors and staff are disrespectful and believe in the hierarchical system implemented with doctors and the rest of the team, and you're treated as such.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to treatment of staff and the distribution of work to reduce the employee turnover rate

    Pros

Employee discounts, PTO/ Vac, a place to expand your knowledge about the dental field such as OA, RDA etc through sponsorship of the company.

    Cons

Must be Full time, the company does not match up 401k, the pay is below average than most dental work places, open on Saturday's.

    Advice to Management

The best staff and service will have the best management in office. A good boss equals a great outcome on everyone's part!

I have been working at Western Dental Services full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Guaranteed 40 hour work week. Staff receives holiday pay and 2 float days to use in the year. One hour lunches on the weekdays.

    Cons

The company treats their employees as if they are garbage, management talks down to the office staff as if they are stupid. Office managers are not properly trained, all they care about is their bonus at the end of the month. What happens when they get that bonus? NOTHING, the office is expected to meet goal the month after with no reward or appreciation. The office staff are overworked and underpaid! The offices are very dirty from the front desk to the bathrooms even the dental chairs!!

    Advice to Management

Dan Crowley, CEO, would he come get his teeth clean at any of the offices after waiting 2 hours or shell out $2,400 for a deep cleaning and antibiotics in just about every tooth? Stop pressuring staff to pressure patients to purchase products that are CHEAP! Have your doctors look like doctors not people that rolled out of bed to come to a place where they hate. Also, how about company outings or company wide apprectian not just for those at corporate. Without us at the office you would have no jobs at corporate.

I worked at Western Dental Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a good company for beginners. You learn all the dental basics.

    Cons

They over work employees for the low salaries they pay.

    Advice to Management

Instead of getting mad at new/old employees why not recognize and the hard work they do.

I worked at Western Dental Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a good learning experience. It's definitely a stepping stone, they teach you the right way to do everything. Everyone who works there is fresh out of school. You get two breaks and lunches.

    Cons

The pay and pay raises suck, they're very "high school" they treat you like just a number. They transfer you a lot.

    Advice to Management

The reason people are in and out of this company is because of the management and how they are over dramatic and have no management background. A lot of the managers are bitter "used to be" dental assistants or receptionists who make 15 an hour, and have been there for 5+ years.. miserable. Leave the attitude at home.
