    I worked at Westinghouse full-time

    Pros

Good pay. Travel. benefits were good also.

    Cons

horrible management. Brought in a bunch of Areva and GE cast offs. they sunk a great company, just like they did to their own!

I worked at Westinghouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Obviously, there are none since I was part of the recent workforce reduction. On second thought, maybe that is a pro.

    Cons

Just read the 'real' reviews that are posted here. It is so very sad that those of us who were once proud to be Westinghouse employees are now embarrassed.

    Advice to Management

Really... Jose, Dan, and the rest of you KERPs and KEIPs? If it weren't for the rest of the TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More), Westinghouse would not be around and you will never be able to meet your metrics. Decline your salary adjustments and bonuses and insist they instead be distributed amongst those who truly deserve it!

I worked at Westinghouse full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

pay was good, good co-workers, good hours, good benefits, equipment ok, nice building, accessible parking, engineering/design staff varied from average to very professional doing solid work in a stressful environment.

    Cons

bad location for commute (Charlotte office), stressful due to multiple changes in ownership, ending with Westinghouse. Westinghouse is really a manufacturing company and did not consider the WECTEC team doing the plant design as a core business.

    Pros

Vacation time, Every other Friday off, GREAT coworkers (some of them)

    Cons

The same people get promoted over and over again without consideration for the talent that lies within the ENTIRE team. No matter how hard you work it is NEVER enough if you aren't one of the favs.

I have been working at Westinghouse full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great people to work with.

    Cons

Company execs still have heads in the sand on how employees really feel and they really don't care to know. As long as we meet the "business goals" they get their giant bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Walk around and talk with employees. Don't flaunt the bonuses that you will get on top of your already inflated salaries while you are laying off so many.

I have been working at Westinghouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Getting less and less every day

    Cons

CEO and Senior leadership insist on enriching themselves while planning to layoff 2100 employees. Entitlement as opposed to pay for performance is the norm. CEO is reason Fuel Facility was shutdown due to lack of oversight. Now CEO is expected to guide us through the bankruptcy but first with unearned 60% pay increase.

    Advice to Management

SCANA listed lack of trust and confidence in senior leadership for walking away for contracts. Your actions continue to create distrust. Earn your pay by making Westinghouse profitable and then ask for an increase.

I have been working at Westinghouse full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, opportunities for international/domestic travel, competitive salaries, lots of different positions and can move around as needed

    Cons

Work/life balance can be challenging depending on what group you are in. Organizations can be siloed as they dont pass on information to others. Locations are dwindling.
