    Pros

Very sensitive to family issues and personnel's life outside of work. Care about empolyee growth both personally and professionally.

    Cons

Smaller/medium sized firm, so large interesting projects are tougher to get. Somewhat top-heavy (significant gap between senior and junior staff makes progression sometimes questionable).

    Advice to Management

Focus more effort on employee feedback... develope the next generation of professionals

    Pros

Professinoal office and atmosphere, nice physical work environment, not over rated. Supportive HR group. Good in house resources.

    Cons

Some upper management don't have the most likeable personalities. Old Boys Network, Less experienced men promoted over women. Some people given preference over others when it comes to work schedule, time off, long extended vacations, etc..

    Advice to Management

Dont under rate or suprress the talents of lower level staff they might actually know more than you do. Admit when you are wrong and thank people when they fix or take care of a project when you hand it over to them completely messed up and take all the accolades for yourself.

    Pros

Very laid back, they care a lot about their employees.

    Cons

The work comes in waves. You may have one week where you are light on work, and the next you are overloaded.

    Pros

Great company culture. Upper management always working towards improvement. Great salaries and benefits. Knowledgeable staff.

    Cons

Large differences in offices. Problems in headquarters office are not the same as those in satellite offices and vice versa. Employment experiences will probably differ greatly depending on which office you work in.

    Advice to Management

Take advantage of all employee talents at every opportunity, regardless of experience, location, discipline, etc.

I worked at Weston & Sampson Engineers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, a lot of flexibility to work with other teams

    Cons

Managers did not plan projects adequately therefore there were too many unnecessary project re-do's that resulted in staff having to put extra hours unpaid and focus on repetitive tasks. Professional development was slow.

    Advice to Management

Plan your projects better to help younger staff gain access to better growth opportunities.

I have been working at Weston & Sampson Engineers full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Supportive of you as a person, not just you as an employee. Very committed upper management to making a great place to spend your career.

    Cons

Very slow to fire under performers. . . "too nice". This frustrates people who work hard.

    Advice to Management

Cut the low performers sooner rather than later. They are bringing us all down.
