I worked at Westpac Group as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

The Talent Acquisition Team are a really nice group of people. A genuine desire for innovation through technology.

    Cons

Perpetually under-resourced, but this is common in talent acquisition across a lot of companies. Middle management seemed to be trying to fix this but that didn't appear to follow through in upper management. Considering the workload, financial compensation was not good.

I was happy to be in a contract role but knew a few other contractors who had been there for 2+ years and not been offered a permanent role.

I would recommend to a friend on the proviso that they remained in open dialogue with their manager about workloads, and didn't do lots of overtime.

    Pros

Great people to work with, supportive culture. Current strategy makes sense.

    Cons

Normal types of things for big companies - transformations take time, simple things seem more complex than they should be. People thinking in individual silos and not as a whole. Some interesting leadership styles.

    Advice to Management

Keep going with the agile transformation but lead from the front also - a proper transformation needs to happen at all levels.
