    Pros

Great thinking atmosphere. Free to use your mind. Great health benefits. Pay is good and the local team are easy to work with.

    Cons

Too many mergers, not enough employees, things change before anything takes effect. Pay periods are twice a month which is horrible. Stocks are declining at an alarming rate.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to work closer together between all of the world wide branches. Create a solid foundation for all entities.

I have been working at Westport Innovations (More than a year)

    Pros

Located in Vancouver and technology based company. Nice office location which is not in downtown Vancouver. Good work life balance. Good training available.

    Cons

Very unstable. Not good change management in difficult times. Very political and difficult to get promoted or raise in compensation. Average salaries are very low compare to industry.

    Advice to Management

Consider employees as human beings not commodities. Take advice from consultants when there is not enough talents in the company. Motivate employees.

NGV technology is awesome but a challenging sell. Company keeps downsizing hoping to find its niche. Lower gasoline prices complicate the message.

I have been working at Westport Innovations full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People are diverse and very knowledgeable. Travel budget is unlimited with no restrictions on alcohol while entertaining.

    Cons

Every 6 months they're re-organizing and changing their business model. People never get to excel and meet objectives. Constant changes and lay-offs becomes very daunting leaving people to wonder if they're next to be cut. Very high turn-over for this type of company.

    Advice to Management

Stick with one business model. Constant change in direction wastes a lot of investor money.

    Pros

The people, opportunity to learn first hand about engine development program process for certification

    Cons

Office politics, punished for thinking outside the box, if you keep your head down and mindlessly follow orders then you get promoted... otherwise you're looking for a new job, horrible communication, Zero leadership, make promises they can't deliver, employees gossip about layoffs, too many to name

    Advice to Management

Listen to the engineers and technicians who actually work hands on with the product
