      Pros

Located in Vancouver and technology based company. Nice office location which is not in downtown Vancouver. Good work life balance. Good training available.

      Cons

Very unstable. Not good change management in difficult times. Very political and difficult to get promoted or raise in compensation. Average salaries are very low compare to industry.

Westport is a Rare Canadian Gem

      Pros

Other reviews surprise me because I'm just not seeing the same company they're referring to. How many similar sized Canadian based companies can boast local leadership like Westport? Head office is not in some faraway land, it's right here in Vancouver. I am happy to be able to say hello to the C.E.O. or any executive, in the lunchroom or the hallway. While Westport is quite sizable, it somehow still feels like family. It seems there is an H.R. policy to hire positive people, because most everybody has a great attitude. Westport emphasizes helping local charities such as United Way of the Lower Mainland, and employees are encouraged to volunteer in the community with an organization of their choice. As you can tell, I am very happy with this organization!

      Cons

There are always challenges relating to overall improvements, challenges in meeting completion timelines, but these are good things. It's all about continuous improvement.

More VPs than people doing the real job

Dec 25, 2014 - Manager in Vancouver, BC

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Vancouver based. So nice city if you get transfered

      Cons

CEO and COO are more concerned about hiring VP's than focusing on a proper defined strategy. Lots of operations guys let go to reduce cost, still lots of non professionals hired at the management level that confuse everyone. Lots of politics involved at westport. Words speak louder than actions
