    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Westside Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The CEO and other executive are very visible and approachable
I work in the OR and I love the team that I work and the Doctor's are pretty great too. Great flexibility with the schedule. Pay is pretty good, but can always be better

    Cons

Sometimes the pay can be confusing as far as being on call and being called back. The call can be outrageous at times, but it balances out.

    Advice to Management

Help us to understand out Pay especially in the OR.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Westside Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ability to make own work schedule

    Cons

Administration does not care for nurses or other support staff. They only support the doctors and their bottom line. Terrible place to work

I worked at Westside Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Allowed to make your own schedule and receive trays of Cookies when you get a good review from patients.

    Cons

It breaks my heart to see this hospital go down in pieces. They will always cancel you and make sure there's not enough nurses or pca on the floor. Staff are always complaining about the workload and the pay is very low hence why people are always leaving for better pay and work environment. Medications, needles, etc are always out in the open. This hospital is not a safe environment to work at. Doctors will be in the room and will call the nurse to take the patient to the bathroom. Some feel like they are too good to help patients when their call light is on. There's no teamwork. You will hear a lot of "that's not my job" down the hallways. Staff are scared to speak up. Nurses please don't come here thinking your going to feel appreciated by management. The care for your patients and the fact that you can make them feel better and put a smile on their face will be the greatest appreciation you will ever receive. Thats the true reason you became a nurse in the first place. As long as you can go home knowing you tried your best and can sleep at night, your blessings will come in abundance.

    Advice to Management

A bunch of cookies will not gain any improvement in the hospital but calories. Management need to realize when the staff is well taken cared of everything else will fall into place.

I have been working at Westside Regional Medical Center (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The people I work with, we're really like a family

    Cons

very short staffed because pay is low

    Advice to Management

if you worry less about hcap scores and more about your employees everything else would take care of itself. Part of keeping patients happy is having enough staff so the employees can focus on helping patients and not doing the job of 3 people
