    Pros

Friendly work environment staffed with many radio professionals. The automated system they use is user friendly.

    Cons

Owned by Cumulus who have gutted the place all in the name of "saving" money when really they have diluted the quality of the programming.

    Advice to Management

Like they would listen. But by firing 70 people and replacing them with DJ's making an extra $5k a year is a short-sighted strategy that will doom the company

I worked at Westwood One full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Not many worth mentioning. Let's see - the roof didn't leak? Oh wait - it never rains in L.A. so who really knows?

    Cons

Lots of good people work there but are largely unappreciated. Work load is too heavy. No professional studio soundproofing in most of the L.A. studios. A senior manager once admitted to letting a more talented and experienced manager go to save his own job. In a so called "pep talk" meeting!

    Advice to Management

Try running the company like the major network that it is, with investments in equipment and people. You have good ideas, but they aren't likely to pan out unless you begin to inject some real heart and soul into the operation. Put your money where your mouth is, and work hard to keep employees happy. It will pay off for management, talent, and shareholders. Otherwise, well, the writing is on the wall, isn't it?

    Pros

    Very dedicated and loyal workers

    Cons

There is no shared vision. Morale is pretty bad. Not the place for advancement.

    Pros

A lot of great people world there. If you're entry-level you'll get a lot of experience.

    Cons

The pay, constant mergers, management, mismanagement, micromanagement.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees.

    Pros

    work hours are standard.
    free coffee/tea
location easily to get to by mass transit.

    Cons

    no room to grow
no bonus or incentives, unless working in sales.

    Advice to Management

promote from within to increase morale.

I worked at Westwood One full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great place when you are fresh out of college.

People you work closely with are pretty good

    Cons

No room to grow in the company. Opportunities to flourish are low and ideas go unheard.

    Advice to Management

Promote those from within and more employees with stay. Promotions many times come with no compensation, which makes this worse

I have been working at Westwood One full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great hard working team. At least for what reminding of it.

    Cons

Was acquired by Cumulus Media. After acquisition a lot of hardworking talent was let go and replaced by lower level management from Cumulus. Lack of communication, lack of respect from upper management.

    Advice to Management

Give people that work hard raises, and quit laying people off just to cut cost while not really boosting revenue.

I have been working at Westwood One full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The team are great people. Easy to get along with and always willing to help. The tasks required for this position is not hard at all and you get the hang of it quick.

    Cons

Working there for years and never got any raises that I was promised, not even a cost of living adjustment. No bonuses or anything. Also, they will hire from outside before they consider within.

    Advice to Management

Look at making your employees happy. This place is a revolving door and when your low in the totem pole it doesn't feel like you matter. Also, would like to know what 6 months of stability with the same management feels. It's musical chairs with CEOs and COOs. It's getting really exhausting.

I have been working at Westwood One full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Align yourself with huge brands and names.

    Cons

Horrible leadership, egotistical managers, no training, not solid benefits.

    Advice to Management

Actual care about your employees who help you get your 350k a year. Actually manage and help grow your employees instead of throwing them under the bus constantly.

Perks are almost non existent. Teambuliding is absent.
