I have been working at Wheeler Clinic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary. Friendly staff (can't speak for Wheeler in general but my specific program and the people I interact with are friendly and helpful)

    Cons

Management not always on same page making it difficult for employees to know how to do something the right way

    Advice to Management

Make sure all supervisors/program managers are teaching staff the same thing (I.E what's needed in treatment plans, diagnosis, etc).

I worked at Wheeler Clinic full-time

    Pros

They give you Free training, will help develop your skills. They will provide Supervision for licensure. Fair pay for a non profit agency.

    Cons

There is high burn out, the in home and crisis work has long hours. Tough to have a family or kids while working those jobs. A good starting career for someone right out of school.

    Advice to Management

I would suggest that they treat their staff with more care due to the high burn out of these jobs. They seem to accept the turn over rather than try to reduce it.

I have been working at Wheeler Clinic (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Obviously the clients and families. That's why I got into this field for starters. Making a difference really matters. Some of the benefits are average. Not the greatest but not the worst either.

    Cons

Workload is definitely the biggest drawback. Never enough time (or resources) for the clients. Sometimes burnout contributes to very high turnover.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on quality of care. (Rather than quantity of programs or referrals.) Offer more fun events for staff. Reduce turnover by making benefits packages more competitive.

I have been working at Wheeler Clinic full-time

    Pros

    Flexibility / Room for advancement

    Cons

Pay/ work load/ lack of support from management/ disconnect between administration and employees/ lack of knowledge of programming

    Advice to Management

Become more connect with front line staff and listen to what their needs are. Be able to understand and validate what they need to run programs. Become more connected with the programs and show staff that your willing to take on the same work that they are. Lastly, pay more. The amount of work in and out of the programs that is required and expected is not compensated in their pay nor any appreciation is shown.

I worked at Wheeler Clinic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great experience especially for entry-level clinicians.

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to care if employees are overworked, and are not very supportive. Not much room for advancement in the company. Focus seems to be more on building their empire than client needs.

    Advice to Management

Recognize the value of your employees.
