I have been working at Whirlpool Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very solid people who care about what they do. Well rounded performance evaluation. Quality product. Career growth potential if willing to move. Global company. Working to improve diversity (gender, color).

    Cons

Senior level management is not properly trained. Many layers to make changes. It's difficult to overcome past mistakes. Lack of transparency where needed. Slow path to diversity. Lack women in senior leadership roles.

    Advice to Management

Train leaders in emotional intelligence, not just process. Trust employees. Narrow product offerings to relieve customer and logistical issues.

I have been working at Whirlpool Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Offers good benefits, sometimes flexible hours depending on the manager.

    Cons

No advancement without a degree - regardless of experience with the company, without a degree it is very hard to move forward.

    Pros

Strong brands and knows how to use them. Large stable company that is continuing to succeed, in spite of strong competition

    Cons

The culture is driven as much by corporate as it is by location. Need to learn how to innovate to meet the busy world.

    Pros

Wasn't many pros to the job. Tons of overtime and great co workers.

    Cons

Management never had employee best interest in mind. Quarterly bonuses were never met.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Whirlpool Corporation as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience, Hands on project experience, Had a great mentor/supervisor who really cared about my time there. I learned a lot about what I wanted to do, definitely a good company to learn from.

    Cons

My biggest complaint is the employee relations between the supervisors, engineers, factory workers and corporate are not great. There was a disconnect between corporate and management at the plant location and a disconnect between the engineers and the factory workers.
