    Pros

A stimulating environment, with a lot of very smart people, it is a place that you cannot help but to learn and grow.

    Cons

Like most places it has some quirks you have to work through.

I have been working at Whirlpool Corporation full-time

    Pros

The best thing about Whirlpool, is that it pays well. They have very competitive hourly wages.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the leadership here is terrible. In addition, you are only allowed 5 call-in days in a calendar year which makes it difficult for families. Currently, they cannot keep people here. The forced overtime and low call-in days suck the life right out of people.

    Advice to Management

Work with your people. The HRX thing is impossible to work with. As a leader there, I had management breathing down my neck at all times, then I was expected to wear a smile on the floor. I understand goals and metrics, but when the leaders aren't given the tools to succeed, how can they be held to your impossible standards?

    Pros

Middle level company , sales oriented, lot of figures are fudged, if all provisions carried forward, company will show loss, dealers who know how to dodge can make large profits

    Cons

Improper finance setup coterie of people running the organisation

    Advice to Management

Break the coterie to see the true picture

I have been working at Whirlpool Corporation full-time

    Pros

Was a lot of fun 10 years back, great energy, innovation, creativity. Pay and benefits are good. A lot of good people at the middle and lower levels who are great to work with.

    Cons

Many corporate HR policies, under the guise of being more "fair" and "caring", are rapidly undermining morale across broad swaths of the company. You can't keep cutting staff to the bone indefinitely, while adding non-value-add tasks that ultimately are only used to gather data on people to use to thin the herd the next time around (every few years). Also, the company is extremely liberal in diversity and other things, such that, if you are not LGBT, or Indian, or whatever, you better keep your mouth shut about what you might believe, as there's no room for non-conformers. I have no issue with being inclusive, and totally agree that all should feel welcome where they work, but it needs to be balanced, everyone should feel it's ok to bring "their whole self" to work.

    Advice to Management

Top management doesn't seem too concerned with morale...

    Pros

Some great people work there. Great Products

    Cons

Some of the middle management does not have a long range view for the company and the compensation is can be alright but not up to what competitors are offering and the benefits do not offset the pay difference.

I worked at Whirlpool Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay and they promote from within

    Cons

Management finds excuses to freeze pay and limit bonuses. They also pit you against your colleagues for ratings to keep your job or move up within the company. Managers have to actively fight for your rating each year, very political. Living in St Joe/Benton Harbor is not for young professional.

    Advice to Management

Revamp your HR dept. It's a joke

They make pretty good money. Good insurance an benefits. You get to meet a lot of people, an learn lots of new things.

    Cons

It's hard for new people to bid on jobs. You have to either have been there for a long time or know someone real good.

    Pros

Centrally located to large city such as Chicago and Detroit. Flexible working environment

    Cons

The company has no growth and development program and typically use the term “own your own career,” to avoid developing all of its employees. You are easily over looked and nepotism is freely practiced. Your pay will never exceed market value.

    Advice to Management

Place as much concern in your people development as you do to innovation
