    Positive Outlook

    I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good elementary development, encouraging staff and motivational individuals, good company benefits and range of roles and skills to be trained in

    Cons

    often shift work, inflexible working and holiday entitlement, low pay, from one extreme to the next between being underemployed and overly worked for the salary paid.

    Advice to Management

    show the employees you care by fighting for them in plain sight, maintain transparency and continue to show care they way you have been

    I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    there starting to pay above nmw and try and retain more chefs
    work/life balance

    Cons

    lack of staff rotd on
    investmeant lacking in resteronts due to costa and premier inn taking priority

    Advice to Management

    invest more in your non-core brands (all your resteronts are now next to a premier inn so by default you could call them apart of the core brand)

    Pros

    * Company gives you permanent position from day 1 you join.
    * Advanced technology
    * Believe and invest in their people
    * Good in house coffees
    * Somewhat good support from management
    * Work life balance

    Cons

    * Politics
    * Some of the colleagues are poor in experience and expertise.
    * Company can not get rid of not so efficient people due to their policy of making people permanent from day 1.

    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Company provides a good bonus scheme if you hit your sales and profit targets.
    Sales incentives for the team members.

    Cons

    No support from higher management.
    Poor supply chain.
    No consideration for work/life balance
    Well behind other companies in regards to systems.
    Expected to work well over contract hours for free.

    Advice to Management

    Restaurant side of whitbread is ran very poorly. Because restaurants aren't as profitable as costa or premier inn we are expected to screw the business and are seen as less important.

    I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    flexible work
    Good pay
    Relaxed work environment

    Cons

    Getting worse as an employer
    Don't take mental health seriously
    London office is a joke
    Need to be Asian to work in some departments
    Poor management in senior levels
    Restructure every year
    Too many contractors that don't do anything- yet think they run the place.
    Free Costa Coffee- is tastes horrid
    Canteen is poor

    Advice to Management

    Discrimination is rife in the workplace.
    Support employees with mental health issues, not push them out the door.
    Stop the restructures.
    London office needs new management
    Get rid of the contractors
    Better internal communication- what do they do in London?

    Pros

    Huge growth plans, nice people, fair reward and significant opportunities for training and progression

    Cons

    Most people are not full time in London (head quartered in Dunstable) but there is a London office and flexible working policies

    Advice to Management

    Given high growth plans, increasing workloads we need to focus on recruitment and getting the right people in

    I have been working at Whitbread full-time

    Pros

    Supportive company when it comes to career progression/ development! Engaging company to work for, recognised for hard work & achievements!

    Cons

    Support centre facilities could be more in line with modern ways of working - facilities and office space quite dated which is a shame when the company invests so much money into the operations side of the business.
