I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great brands to be proud of. Great people who are dedicated and committed to the brands. An organisation that will be there for the long haul.

    Cons

In the current challenging environment, there is a big restructure and drive towards cost efficiency, they need to make sure that they do not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Very poor systems but we hear that investment is on its way. There is no fun at work at the moment, hopefully that will recover in the next couple of months.

    Advice to Management

Think about the internal customer even though we only ever talk about the external customer

I worked at Whitbread as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Definitely the opportunity to define the type of work you do on your internship. Had a really fun work day down in Brighton. Free costa coffee all day is also a plus!

    Cons

The training could have been slightly more organised and, due to it's location, the social life could have been better.

    Advice to Management

None that I can really think of - potentially just ensure the internship is well organised as I was shadowing people for a while before I had my own desk.

I worked at Whitbread full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great ambition mixed with great engagement scores. Family feel to the head office where you get the sense colleagues care.. I guess if you fit in you are looked after but may struggle if not. I found it a great place to work

    Cons

To many consultants clogging up the meeting rooms and also so many projects they overlap so high management control needed

    Advice to Management

    Carry on - doing great.
