I have been working at Whitbread part-time

    Pros

    Excellent team
    Good tips
    Sharesave scheme is excellent
    Aims to promote internally
    Rewards via prepaid card
Charitable - associated with Great Ormond Street but also encourages you to Give As You Earn to any charity
I've seen it said that there is no unsociable hours pay, that the pay is poor and that you are required to work long hours - this is true. But, it is true of the industry as a whole not just Whitbread. If you expect to work in a restaurant, expect to work unsociable hours, why would they compensate for something that is clearly part of the job?

    Cons

Saving hours means you do not always work your full contracted hours
Rotas are sometimes not made available in advance - they aim to give four weeks of rotas but this rarely happens

    Advice to Management

Please get our rotas out quicker

I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a great culture - everyone wants to help
    The facilities are being updated
In IT there is so much to do and the leadership team have a great foundation now
You can make the job your own

    Cons

The processes which were meant to get easier have got silly - PMO need to remember practicalities in our environment
The new structure has resulted in far to many board meetings - if you aren’t creative you can sometimes feel heald back or unable to make progress
Underinvestment in IT means simple things are hard (and expensive)

    Advice to Management

Look back at the recent restructure for the things that we didn’t get right
Focus on retention, recruitment is only important if we can keep and develop a talent pipeline

    Pros

    Cons

every 3 years so you could find yourself redundant.
