I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Huge growth plans, nice people, fair reward and significant opportunities for training and progression

    Cons

Most people are not full time in London (head quartered in Dunstable) but there is a London office and flexible working policies

    Advice to Management

Given high growth plans, increasing workloads we need to focus on recruitment and getting the right people in

    Pros

Great culture, people and working atmosphere. Supportive culture with a strong focus on development and internal promotion and succession planning.

    Cons

This is a big company and do you need to take control of your own career.
The buildings in Dunstable need some refurbishment

    Advice to Management

Keep focussed on a few things and do not get distracted by additional activities or priorities

    Pros

Lovely people culture with a great ethos around performance management- regular one to ones, strong brands, productive place to work. Fast paced. Free Costa!

    Cons

Location is not ideal to get to via the m1 or train. Canteen isn't great. There are no extra curriculum type activities you'd expect from a large company. No gym on site or creche etc.

    Advice to Management

Could encourage a more flexible working approach.

I have been working at Whitbread as a contractor

    Pros

There is a really nice work life balance here, and the workforce is diverse with a lot more females in the tech dept than I've seen elsewhere.

    Cons

Can't say I have any gripes

    Advice to Management

    Fruit everyday!

I have been working at Whitbread (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company to work for always being updated with new ideas on how to keep the guests happy and other staff as its always better when we work as a team.

    Cons

Sometimes we dont get the recognition that we deserve when we put forward an idea , especially when someone else makes out it was their idea and get a financial bonus.

    Advice to Management

Everyone should be getting some kind of bonus ie for good attendance, helping other work colleagues and guests, as it creates a good atmosphere in the work place.
