I worked at Whitefence as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Challenging, Interesting work. Great technology team, lots of potential.

    Cons

Top heavy with overpaid executives, more managers than workers, constant pointless meetings. Lack of corporate vision.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the massive executive overhead. Size the workforce to match actual revenues, instead of wished-for revenues.

    Pros

    Laid back atmosphere, good hours.

    Cons

Top heavy in management, no room for advancement as well as the benefits are far and few in between.

    Advice to Management

Need to weed out the losers and management needs to be thinned out. Not an exciting place with no room for advancement.

    I worked at Whitefence full-time

    Pros

HR does their best to keep up the spirits of this dying company. Most everyone below the C-suite is genuinely nice. Office location is outstanding.

    Cons

Executive leadership nonexistent, no plan for profitability. Dead-end technology, quite possibly the worst CTO ever. No employee training.

    Advice to Management

Old executive team sold the company and left with golden parachutes, the rest of the company got nothing. Advise not to do business with them in the future.

I worked at Whitefence full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to come in late around 9:30

    Cons

Upper Management has a secret strategy. I suspect they will dress up the company and sell it. It has been unprofitable and in the last year laid off half of its employees.

**The company is hemorrhaging money and turnover is very high.

    Advice to Management

Share your plan for the company with the employees and provide some kind of structure so people can move up.

Some of the best reason working for Whitefence is the business model makes since. WhiteFence is a one stop shop to connect all your home service including phone, internet, and cable services. WhiteFence was founded in March of 2000 with the idea of making the moving process as non stressful as possible. This company has good people working at their company but do to economic times they had to release some employees. Along with working with talented and smart professionals the pay compensation was pretty good as well. The inside sales manager salary range was between 50 to 60,000 per year.

    Cons

Company growth strategy is not known.

    Advice to Management

Get a solid game plan and stick with it.
