Great experience with Whitepages
Jan 21, 2019 - Recruiter in Seattle, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Strong culture fit for me -Hardworking people throughout the entire company -Passion, care, and interest in the work -Growth, the company is growing internationally -Lots of morale events, e.g. lunches, company trip, holiday gift, etc. -The Pro product proactively prevents fraudulent transactions at the enterprise level, it really does use 'data for good' (one of the company's mottos)
Cons
-The consumer product is useful and a long-standing money maker, but it makes information about people that they assume to be private, public. More documentation and advertisement should be made available to consumers regarding how their information is made available - that this is public information from multiple public databases and we've gathered it in to one place - that we don't have the power to delete it.

Pros
Whitepages is a hive of activity. It offers the friendly, flexible, laid back environment of Seattle startups and blends it seamlessly with a fast-paced, professional work environment. What you're left with is great culture and great opportunity for growth. The new CEO is invested in the culture, the product, the customers, and most importantly the staff.
Cons
Not sure what to put here.

Pros
Great culture that mixes ambitious goals with a realistic supportive workplace. Great team and a sense of mission. It's a small enough company that I have gotten to be involved in other areas of the business than what I was initially hired for. I like variety and this has been a key to my enjoyment.
Cons
Company is still implementing systems and structures. As an organization it fights the possibility of being staid and bureacratic...so we are still trying to find that balance between clear structure and yet remain loose and creative enough to really generate great services and profits.

Awesome! I was given a lot of responsibility but also held accountable.
Apr 4, 2012 - Senior Manager in Seattle, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I loved the open culture that the CEO had built and that everyone was accountable for their work. This isn't the kind of place where all the VPs get to slack off and everyone else does the work.
Cons
I would encourage the company to continue to find balance between work and personal life. It's something that is already done well but can always be improved.

***This review is from the B2B 'Pro' side of the company*** - The Product(data): Whitepages Pro offers a unique solution with not a ton of competitors. In the year I have been here, the company has added some very impressive customers. - The People: Whitepages has built a small group of talented, driven, and friendly people. -The Culture: Snacks, Booze, Ping Pong Table, Company Retreat, Happy Hours, Open Office, Bean Bags, Casual Atmosphere, Etc. -The Opportunity: The company is growing and you have a chance to grow with it.
Cons
- No 401K Matching - It sometimes feels like there is a division between the Consumer team and the B2B team

Great company culture

Great company culture. Focus on employee well being and happiness. Flexibility.
Cons
Unclear direction for growth. Vacillation on goals and vision for growth.

Pros
Whitepages has a fantastic corporate culture: entrepreneurial (not just lip-service), supportive, innovative. The interview & hiring process provided a level of transparency & candor not seen elsewhere; you knew exactly what was expected and where you stood; management were qualifying & closing YOU. There's a lot of upside ahead, as far as I can see.
Cons
everything happens in Seattle, but Seattle goes to great lengths to keep you connected remotely

Pros
The benefits and culture are really amazing there. They do a lot to take care of their employees from commuting expenses, free snacks, Friday lunches, to company trips.
Cons
Constantly growing and exhibiting some growing pains. The company direction changes often as they break into new lines of business and that leaves the employees with a lot of uncertainty.

Great company getting even better
Jul 24, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Seattle, WARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This company has a lot going for it. Yes, it runs popular websites and mobile apps, and it has a profitable business model, but first and foremost, it is the people at this company who make it so great all the way from the fresh grads out of school to the leadership. The team is stacked with experience and intelligence, without the attitude. The culture is casual and open and the team is loosely organized. The official comp policy is officially at the top of market, but it seems to come out to about 80th-90th percentile. The senior management team cares a lot about employee feedback and hosts monthly meetings to share anonymous employee feedback. The transparency within the office kills a lot of the usual office politics.
Cons
No 401k matching. There are some very smart and hard charging people on the team, which can be humbling and intimidating. Unlimited vacation policy can be misleading because the work hours are long.
