    Pros

Amazing benefits and great pay. Fiscally responsible company means they're going to be around.

    Cons

It would be great to see more stock passed out as an incentive. More "jeans" Fridays and work schedule flexibility would be great.

    Advice to Management

I believe that you're on the right track. Proud to work here.

I worked at Whiting Petroleum as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

There was a laid back environment that promoted solid, technical work to be done. The employees that I worked with were extremely supportive and understanding of what it meant to be an intern, and more importantly what intern programs can do for the future of the industry.

    Cons

While being able to work independently is a quality sought after by employers, at the intern level I believe more collaboration with your fellow industry professional coworkers would have improved the program. Also, I believe that one of the other interns got the job in a very deceptive manner. A more rigorous interview process would help solve this problem.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! Seeing the many facets of the industry was a worthwhile experience, and you provided that!

I worked at Whiting Petroleum as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at Whiting Petroleum for over two years as an intern and heard how great the benefits were from several different employees. Insurance was so great that your total out-of-pocket expense for having a baby was only around $700 for everything. Bonuses were awesome for full-time employees. It wasn't unheard of for people to get 1/3rd to 1/2 of their annual salary and a bonus at the end of the year. The working atmosphere was great as well. When working there it felt like you were working with family; a family that got along well.

    Cons

No major cons come to mind. It was a great place to work and was full of great people.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more of your interns.

    Cons

Long work hours for the exploration and production staff but that is the career we chose. Same with stress and pressure.
