      Good Company

      Pros

The people who work for Whiting-Turner make the job fun. The benefits are great, and the pay is pretty good. When you're on an out of town project is when you have an opportunity to make really good money

      Cons

Long work hours so the work-life balance is very poor. You have no say on where you will end up, and at some point you will be forced to relocate for the duration of a project even if you don't want to.

      Fine Experience

      Pros

Some cool projects, ability to travel, no lay offs during recessions due to WT strong financial standing. Benefits are pretty good (insurance, car expenses)

      Cons

Middle management varies project to project. Some teams good to work with, some not. Upper management seems to care about employees. Work/life balance not great. Pay seems lower compared to other GC's -unless your in it for the long haul "Golden Handcuffs". Employees seem to get promoted by years of service vs actual performance.

Some Experience - Depends on Job Placement

Jul 30, 2020 - Intern - Hourly in Washington, DC

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Some projects are up and bustling and you will always be busy - Fairly good pay for interns - Experience with office and field side of projects - Easy to advance in the company

      Cons

      - Some projects are slow so there is not much for interns to do - Being an intern is great because you work 40hrs and you're done. But I can tell that full-time hires lack work-life balance

      Great Company

      Pros

Provide great benefits, learning and training opportunities, and work experience overall. Challenging and engaging projects.

      Cons

Work/Life Balance, often must be willing to move/travel for work, slow opportunity for growth in the company, technology systems were dated and not up to today's standards.
