    No opinion of CEO

    I worked at Whittard full-time

    Pros

Free tea ( you don't choose though , head office does that for you)

    Cons

Where to start ? Management of the company is a lot like primary school and "mean girls" head office entertains them to act so and as a manager you are not to make decisions but have to pretend you agree with theirs, say what they want to hear ,do what they want to see and they will let you be in peace.

    Advice to Management

    Not my problem

I worked at Whittard part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Decent discount on most products

I have been working at Whittard part-time for more than a year

    Pros

** Great wage compared to some other retail positions at other companies. As a student I really appreciate this ** Free products monthly allow you to get familiar with the range of products quickly and be able to advise customers better ** Good training for new employees - you are not thrown in the deep end and management / senior sales are supportive ** Whittard supports and intermittently fund raises for the... gynaecological cancer charity The Eve Appeal - brilliant cause! ** Handing out free samples can actually be quite fun

    Cons

** Too much pressure to obtain email addresses from customers, makes you feel invasive and dishonest, you get reprimanded if your email % goes under a certain number. If somebody does not want to give you their email address then there is no special tactic or level of customer service that is going to convince them!

    Advice to Management

Maybe rethink the importance placed on obtaining email addresses. It can be an effective marketing strategy yes,l but you risk making the customer feel uncomfortable and tainting the customer experience if sales assistants are pushed too hard with this.

    I worked at Whittard part-time

    Pros

    - choice of free tea every other week (worth £8) - free tea / coffee to make ONCE a day if it’s not busy

    Cons

Managers consistently don’t log your hours so pay is always less than what you worked Overworked- heavy boxes and lots of deliveries and taking out the trash on top of all the targets you have to meet

    Advice to Management

Don’t expect that much from a retail employee getting paid £6.70
