    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Whittier Health Network full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get plenty of hours, because they aren't fully staffed. The general staff is great.

    Cons

They expect the world and give you nothing, the pay is (beyond) below average. Constantly recycling through workers, so it seems that no one is ever fully trained except for the handful that have been here long enough.

    Advice to Management

Don't just promote other family members or friends especially ones that have no experience over other people who are more then qualified. Also start paying your deserving hard working employees the wages they deserve and maybe they wouldnt be constantly leaving for better opportunities.

    Pros

you like to work in healthcare becausde you like to help people. Its close to your home and you can walk

    Cons

Low pay, long hours, arbitrary decisions by ownership. little training or help for new employees

    Advice to Management

learn to appreciate the human resource. it smarter to keep and retrain, than it is to fire and replace. there aren't enough relatives in the world to fill all positions.

    Pros

Because it is a small hospital, you have a lot of room to grow, and you can gain a lot of experience if you ask for it. If you are assertive and willing to work hard, you will be noticed.

    Cons

nurse-patient ratio often times are bad, CNA -patient ratio always terrible, which means nurses have to help which takes away from RN duties.

    Advice to Management

be more consistent, more communication with us and each other.

    Pros

Staff you work with on the unit

    Cons

Upper management gives more work than one employee can handle.
    Benefits are fair not great.

    Advice to Management

Put a limit on what you give employees to do. Don't just keep dumping it on them.
Ask them how they are doing with their work. Listen!

I worked at Whittier Health Network part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

there is always time to pick up

    Cons

They are a very disorganized organization. You can drop off/hand deliver the paper work to employee health and human resources and they constantly lose it and say they never received it. during the full 40 hour orientation one full day of the orientation is spent having the new staff to tell everyone in the public how wonderful the organization is,,mind you once you are on the floors working you can have a patient in a room falling and you are in the room across from the nurses station ylling for help and fellow co workers totally ignore yells for help.also numerous times call lights are on and fellow co-workers will ignore call lights because that room because its not on their assignment and will carry on reading their magazines.also they will call you to come in to work even if you request days off for weddings and major life events and try to bully/harass you to come in

    Advice to Management

    get your crap together

    Pros

Coworkers in the corporate office are, for the most part, excellent people. They care and they have a sense of humor.

    Cons

The owners are stingy and selfish. They don't even make the pretense of caring about the daily ins and outs of their employees' jobs. Printer's broken? Make it work. The software that runs payroll for every single corporate employee is ancient, glitchy, and inefficient, to say the least? New software is too expensive. The heat was broken all through winter? Wear layers.

    Advice to Management

Employees are sentient beings with feelings and thoughts and, sometimes, valuable input.
