I worked at Whole Foods Market part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I worked as a part-time cashier for 8 years at my local WFM store, and felt proud to be part of the team! Hourly pay was excellent, and I always found that the team leaders worked right along side their team members. Even though I was just part-time, they treated me as a valued employee. They knew I worked a full-time job and worked around my schedule. They welcome feedback from employees on ways to improve things for employees and customers. They provide ongoing training on organics, safety, store policies, individual products, etc. I loved being part of this company and only left my job because I needed to dedicate more time to my full-time job at another company.

    Cons

Nothing specific to my store or position, but just the nature of the business, you may have to work nights, weekends, holidays.

    Advice to Management

Continue to treat employees well. I'll always be grateful for the opportunities I had while working there!

I have been working at Whole Foods Market part-time

    Pros

    Great company and management.

    Cons

A lot of call-ins. Staff calls out a lot, and management is constantly having to find people to fill the schedule.

    Advice to Management

Move to set schedules instead of floating. Find people who want to work certain days and time slots.

I worked at Whole Foods Market full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Opportunities for significant advancement, great team dynamic, team building events, open door policy with leadership, team member driven ideals, discount on groceries

    Cons

High pressure to perform, retail work schedule means working every holiday, expected to work overtime often, hard physical labor at times, large corporate company means that some feedback is lost on leadership

I have been working at Whole Foods Market full-time

    Pros

Great culture and experience, a company that walks the talk. Healthcare is incredibly affordable, generous time-off/vacation time.

    Cons

Grocery is an incredibly difficult industry - the margins are razor thin. Overall salaries may not be as competitive, the benefits absolutely help balance this.

I worked at Whole Foods Market part-time

    Pros

No drug test to worry about. I could work with other departments. Easy to move up in position.

    Cons

Leadership wasn't the best. The store needed major upgrades.

    Advice to Management

Rotate management out and try to hire managers that are located within the town.
