Strong Core Values & Principles, Mission Driven Company
challenged with sales growth as competition intensifies
Ethical, forward-thinking company with many career advancement opportunities.
Culinary Team Member (Prepared Foods) is a fast-paced kitchen position with lots of variety and room for creativity. Very enjoyable for those who like physically active jobs and love to cook.
Local management is reachable, thorough with training, helpful and open to addressing issues and answering questions.
Pay rate is just right for the position and generous team member discount makes healthy eating affordable. Good benefits as well, including health insurance, 401(k), Shoes For Crews™ and health programs. Strong focus on the health and happiness of team members.
Coworkers are friendly and agreeable, not cliquish or standoffish, and are often quick to help each other out.
Overall a physically and socially healthy work environment.
I have a very positive and hopeful outlook for the future of Whole Foods. Their core values and contributions to society set them apart from the competition, and encompass a world health movement that is admirable, inspiring and unique. I would like to stay with Whole Foods for years to come, and hope that I can be a part of their mission.
Only a couple of cons so far, but pros make them worth it.
New team member vote is a good idea on paper but creates stress over job security.
Occasional split days off, 6+ day work weeks and opening shifts following closing shifts.

They offer health insurance to part time employees.
Poor training, poor management, poor pay. I disapprove of whole foods for overcharging nutritious food. Everyone should have access to healthy food.
