I worked at Wholesale Electric full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people that have stuck around, have been around for no joke 20+ years, and they are all very sweet and kind people, very simple folks. They have stuck around because they don't offer up ideas, they don't do the extra mile, they just stay in their lane and don't question anything. The perfect little worker drones.

    Cons

The management is the most southern good 'ol boy rednecks you've ever come across. Think of the stereotypical 1950's style pit boss "leadership" that's all about enforcing compliance and firing anyone for questioning leadership decisions, but now throw in overalls, cowboy boots, and chewing tobacco as standard office attire. They have no idea how modern companies are run, and are far too busy playing Game of Thrones Wholesale Electric edition that's been on going for their 30+ year career. If you really enjoying being forced to use the most God-awful computer systems and homegrown software, Wholesale is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Retire. For the love of God it's No Country For Old Men, just retire and hand off the company to people who know how modern companies work. The days of "kiss the ring" bully distributor tactics are long over, and you missed the boat in the 90's. Also, please get the company off of Windows '95 and forcing everyone to use Internet Explorer.

I worked at Wholesale Electric full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Up till about a year ago, smart people who know the business, didn't need to worry about expressing your opinion. People that were in charge actually had experience in the industrial electrical business. Fair with raises. Old management knew what you did for them.

    Cons

New management has no clue about what they are doing. HR department is running the business. New ownership has no backbone to make their own decisions. Spending money on expanding wile the economy is going downhill, than push the losses on the employee . Replaced old management with people who come from a unsusfull business (HD) makes no sense. They have no clue about their business.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes, some of the best employees don't kiss your butt to make you feel good inside.
