    Pros

Great supportive culture, the firm supplied the resources needed to succeed.

    Cons

The traditional law firm model is difficult but Whyte has done great to overcome it.

Direction of management and some of the attorney care more about themselves than other employees

I have been working at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek (Less than a year)

    Pros

Mostly happy people, with a culture that requires a lot of priority juggling. A lot of opportunity to get involved in a variety of work.

    Cons

Self driven type of place that requires some networking and some self promotion to stand out and be recognized among your peers.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the quiet people that do good work every day. It sometimes seems like you are missing opportunities to involve them in interesting and important matters.

I have been working at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can be flexible with hours and use of PTO or making up time. Usually, get off early day before a holiday. Good benefits. Pay for half parking which is rare downtown. Technically advanced which makes work easier. Many people have worked at the firm long term.

    Cons

Difficult to move up in firm. If you start in a lower position you might be promoted once but after that they will expect you to continue in that position even if experience and education changes.

    Advice to Management

    HR could be more professional.

I have been working at Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Mostly friendly, interesting place to work. Compensation and expectations are reasonable. Benefits are great. Paul Eberle is a great leader of the firm and make sure to get to know everyone personally, regardless of status within the company.

    Cons

There is a clear hierarchy, and admin departments are sitting near the bottom. There is nowhere to move up, so the only obvious way to get promoted is to leave the company. Gets boring and monotonous after awhile.

    Advice to Management

Figure out a way to make non-billing employees happier, which in turn will make those departments run smoother, which in turn will be better for business.

    Pros

Is a Large Firm, Well Respected Attorneys, Decent Pay and Benefits, Great Technology, Document management system was top of the line

    Cons

The firm really had a disconnect between the management (partners), their expectations, and the work that you were provided with. Clearly there were favorites not based on work product but perhaps location/office you were in. Work was not funnelled evenly and, in this economic climate, that resulted in some attorneys not hitting their numbers due to lack of work rather than lack of effort. Pretty unfair. As a young attorney I had solid origination but not enough to keep myself busy for the billable requirements.

    Advice to Management

Make sure there is a mechanism in place to funnel the work to all attorneys. Be fair in distribution of projects espectially with attorneys that have comparable work product.

    Pros

The compensation is sufficient and the expectations are not outside the realm of any in the legal field. At most times it is a quite pleasant place to work with a great view and many perks.

    Cons

The unfriendly class structure between staff, administration and attorney and the occasional bad apples.

    Advice to Management

Work to create and promote comradery between all staff.
