    Pros

Managers are family friendly and will always work with you if scheduling accomodations are needed for medical events or family emergencies. There is strong religious conviction for "doing right".

    Cons

There was always uncertainty about whether there would be enough work to sustain. Lay-off and restructure is too common. Management is wishy-washy, changes direction, and acts on emotion. You never know what your next conversation with a manager will be; one minute a top performer the next on the outs.

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to work together and stop trying to make the fellow members of your team out to be incompetent. There are two clear camps within senior management and the division is visible at every level in the organization.

I worked at Wieland Design full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company is growing rapidly, gaining new contracts and business every quarter. However, the plan to scale up existing resources to compensate for rapid growth is non-existent.
People who work there are more or less nice, but mostly uneducated or promoted from shop-floor with little or no higher education or degrees from lowly rated local colleges and universities. Very simple folk with no macro-level vision. A lot of employees with long tenures (20+ years) who have no exposure to best practices from outside industries.

    Cons

Very very unstable management direction. The current CEO was handed the reigns from his father who started the company and owns the business. The owning family is very faith-based(Christian), so expect to encounter meetings starting with prayers etc. There is a lot of talk about doing the morally right thing, but somehow that doesn't trickle down well in execution and treatment of staff leaves A LOT to be desired.
The CEO has no interest in the Operations side of the business, and devotes his time and effort to the Financials, Growth Strategy and Marketing of internally developed brands. As a result, the relationships with OEM customers are strained and tense. He also tends to hire Operations leaders that tend to shoot from the hip, and not make fact based decisions. The current Operations Leadership is incompetent and the style seems to be to make poor short-term decisions so they can fight chaotic fire-fights constantly of their own engineering.
The company also does not deal with issues of harassment very well, and mechanisms to provide recourse to employees that are being harassed are non-existent.

    Advice to Management

None, this company needs to be bought out by a private equity firm and the entire management team replaced.

    Pros

Flexible to accomodate time off for appointments. Good benefits. Friendly supervisors.

    Cons

An oven during summer months. Pay is o.k. but could be better.

    Advice to Management

Drop the T.P.S. system (probably isn't possible due to contracts)

I worked at Wieland Design full-time

    Pros

    Salary and bonus were excellent

    Cons

Too many cons to list: Family owned, so father passed the reigns over to his son, who never really seemed interested in running the company. The company had a history of bringing in VP's from out of state. The (inner circle) upper management team in place when I left was horrible. They were abusive, arrogant and incompetent. In time, most of the mid-level management team was fired or driven out. Day to day, it was an extremely unpleasant place to work.
