    I worked at Wilbur-Ellis full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free schedule, pay, customer relations, vehicle, ability to control your income/bonus, legacy employees high in knowledge, great technology products and offerings

    Cons

Long, 16 hour days during the growing season, potential 7 day work weeks, adverse weather conditions, liability for crop claims

    Advice to Management

Management is too top heavy. Wilbur pricing is also ridiculously high and the cause for a loss in sales, customer base, and employee edge over competition. Also, probably reason for
    Increased turnover rate.

    Pros

Wonderful people (for the most part, there are always a few people in any organization that could be better). Great work life balance. Managers are awesome in my experience, and they truly care about their people. Lots of training available, and a lot of helpful people are made available for you to learn from. You have to WANT to learn. Good company culture and loyalty from the good employees.

    Cons

The pay isn't super high, but it isn't bad depending on your location. Sales seems to get all the perks, while the administrators (office people) are left behind. Sometimes it seems to be a very male-oriented business, so women can sometimes feel like they are not part of the team. Depending on your location, it can be hard to move up in your career, because if a location has good employees, they never leave and you could be stuck in the same job for a long time before you are able to move up.

    Advice to Management

Better pay wouldn't hurt, keep employees "in the loop", especially in the
agribusiness division. Appreciate your administration side a little more, they all work extremely hard and without them you would not have a business.

I have been working at Wilbur-Ellis full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

flexible schedule, great benefits. That's about it.

    Cons

TERRIBLE management. No matter how much you put in to this company don't expect to get anything out of it. The pay is 20% less than the competition. (one of my close friends works for CPS in the same position). Attitude in the company are also terrible. Branches treat each other like competition instead of working together under the Wilbur Ellis name. And managers treat their employees like dirt. Everyone is beneath them and they don't let you forget it.

    Advice to Management

Get over your napolean complex and start seeing the value in your employees. In 2016 a CDL driver should be paid more than $12 per hour. Also, $45,000 per year is not enough to support a family and own a home. What world are you living in?

    Pros

Was a great experience, and people really embraced everyone in the company culture. They try and show each employee reasons to be proud of what the company does, if it means trips to other branches or learning more about the company as a whole.

    Cons

Not much to state, simply have to be a motivated worker

    Pros

Culture, benefits, pay, perks, supportive HR team and management. Great place to work.

    Cons

The right pieces are not in the higher up positions. Agriculture is a changing industry and to be successful in my role I needs both knowledge and interest in the industry which I would never acquire either.

I have been working at Wilbur-Ellis full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good solid company with strong ethics and tradition. Training is there to make you a strong contributor. Solid company vehicle plan. Leadership is strong.

    Cons

Career guidance is like the wild west or looking for the northwest passage (people swear it was there) A few more managers than leaders. No one has any idea what an advancement can pay. Very hush when it comes to salaries and seems to be arbitrary .

    Advice to Management

More personality and team training and less sales training. Diversity needs to continue to increase. Be active.
