I worked at Wild Waves Theme Park part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the atmosphere of Theme Parks and I thought it would be fun to work security at one. For the most part it is really a fun environment and the job is pretty relaxed. You pretty much get to choose your schedule so that helps with work and life balance.

    Cons

The job pays below 10 an hour. Which is really bad for the amount of work they expect. You are expected to stand for the whole day, which is fine if you're compensated as such. Almost all the jobs are seasonal and you mostly work with a lot of teens who don't know what work ethic means.

    Advice to Management

Identify your employees who don't belong in a "starting wage" or a "seasonal" position. You'd get a more diverse seasonal workforce if you paid people with experience more than those without.

I worked at Wild Waves Theme Park part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Employee party once a month in summer with games and rides or water park open to employees and sometimes one guest per employee as well.
    - Youthful, energetic environment.
    - Easy to make friends with team members.
    - Rides are often fund operate, and for me seeing you the joy on the faces of the guests made my day.
    - Easy to get hired, keep job.
Also opens up for Fright Fest in October and holiday with lights in December. Holiday with lights is beautiful.

    Cons

    - Very low pay. Minimum wage even after the first promotion.
    - Often paranoid leadership you seem to be afraid to communicate clearly and directly with their employees.
    - Bad leadership in management and supervising with only a few exceptions. Management does not care about most of their employees, partially because employees are so expendable.
    - Not enough training for ride operation, dangerous.
    -Again, LOW PAY.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more, and provide more thorough training. Respect and invest in your employees and you will have a safer, more professional team of workers dedicated to the Park's success and safety of the guests.

    Advice to Management

be nicer to the people that actually work because the vast majority don't at all
