    Advice to Management

I worked at Willdan Group full-time

    Pros

Not much oversight. Publicly traded company so there is some depth to the company but the real value must be in other departments.

    Cons

No real leadership and subject matter experts are not really experts. They are making it up as they go and are being sued / threatened to be sued by several clients.

    Advice to Management

The existing finance group has been propped up by other high performance sections of the company. I'm not suggesting the group be scrapped, but some overhaul and an understanding that the "leadership" of that area are really fraud's that have been drummed out of other firms and found another sucker to pay them while they overpromise and underdeliver.

I have been working at Willdan Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Local office has a great manager, does not micro manage, allows us to budget time needed to accomplish work )within reason)

    Cons

Corporate headquarters pokes their nose in and has a lot of rules and regulations we must abide by. Not all branches or divisions are profitable.

I worked at Willdan Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had a phone conversation with the CEO of the firm. I got to look into the mind of the CEO. At least I should be thankful for that opportunity. I learned how a firm wastes human potential!

    Cons

CEO admitted to posting phony ads for the positions because he wants to keep his firm's name in the public eye. I applied for the Senior Building Plans Examiner position and was only given 16 hours of work for the whole year at a much lower position. When he was asked about advancement opportunities, he stated there were none. The CEO did not understand why hiring people with almost no work to do was unethical. This sounds like a very unethical company to me. Run away from this firm because there are no benefits to working at Willdan!

    Advice to Management

Management needs to quit this bait & switch tactic when it comes to employees.

I worked at Willdan Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and lax work environment

    Cons

Changing constantly and management becoming more number based rather human based as company grows.

    Advice to Management

Management is caring more about the numbers rather then it's employees. There's a balance and it's all number based when that happens employees feel like machines not people

I have been working at Willdan Group full-time

    Pros

Great group of people to work with. Everyone is very nice and helpful. Relaxed social environment to work in. Good place for entry level job.

    Cons

Training can be somewhat lacking. Amount of work can be overwhelming and stressful at times. But as long as you ask for help there will always be someone to assist.

    Advice to Management

Improve training for new hires and make sure to clearly explain every phase of the work year. There is an astounding amount to learn and more in depth training would be very beneficial.
