I worked at William Hill full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Bathroom breaks were not monitored. Wages were competitive.

    Cons

Condescending and petty attitude by management to employees. Fear-based management, pressure, and adversarial relationships are encouraged. Management defends themselves against negative feedback by using scapegoats whenever delivering unpopular news. Archaic dress code for back-office employees, who will never see a customer, lets the employee know that the company owns every moment of their time. Peaks and valleys of work due to lack of planning, leading to last-minute scrambles and heroism to deliver. Yet, self-organization and innovation seen as a threat to authority and quashed. Little concern for employee work-life balance.

    Pros

Have to say that William Hill had a very employee friendly culture with awesome work life balance. QA management was really good probably the best I have seen so far.

    Cons

Probably some more time should be spent in getting a strong test automation culture.

I worked at William Hill full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Okay pay with overtime available most weeks.

    Cons

No HR support. Hard to obtain and understand the digital payslip. Poor management. No work life balance. Expected to do overtime with no notice. People always go sick. Endless reporting to do. Unhygienic shops. Terrible customers. Don't get paid if you have to stay later than 10:10. Unexpected tax hit of £125 per year on an oyster if you buy it. No room for promotion. Better off working as an intern for an upstanding company.
