    I worked at Williams Life Center full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The best pro is an opportunity to work with kids in need. Some of them may be very challenging while others are great. The foster parents are very nice and WLC does a good job of qualifying and selecting parents for these children. For the most part, this is a good opportunity to autonomously and to gain experience working in the child welfare system. Great social workers on staff.

    Cons

    Although the office is located in Greenbelt, MD social workers are expected to drive over an hour one way to visit with children in the Treatment Foster Care program. One can expect long days of driving and documentation well after normal business hours. There was little to no training when I started at the company although that may change.     Advice to Management

    Please provide better instruction to employees. Training is minimal and there is an expectation to know everything when one gets there. Management has a rough reputation with employees who feel it's an "us vs. them" environment. Hire more people and stop overworking your employees. The CEO makes more than enough while paying low wages to his overworked staff. Don't stack overdue reports on new employees before they...
