    Pros

Great discount, flexible hours. Love the team at my store.

    Cons

Corporate restructuring has a created a toxic environment for driving customer sales. Employees must maintain certain metrics to "earn" hours week to week. This template has created unnecessary stress and friction among sales associates. Gone is the idea that if we all work together the store will be financially successful. The company no longer values the years of experience some of its employees have. The computer system is extremely outdated and slow. While sales associate offer the option to order items not in our inventory and have them shipped directly to the customer from our online presence, the time it takes to get into the site and place the order for the customer is ridiculously long. Sales are lost because today's customer wants instant gratification and most items we carry (electrics) can be purchased at multiple stores within a five mile radius.

Customers are the best part of the job!

    Pros

If you are passionate about cooking - this is the place for you. The customers are awesome - typically very happy people shop at Williams Sonoma.

    Cons

The pay is typically $10.00 an hour. Besides the 20% discount on electrics and 40% off everything else - there are no benefits, unless you are in management. And truly the ONLY thing Williams-Sonoma is concerned with is making a sale. Employees are basically not treated or compensated very well - EVER! It's pretty much a cut and dry, cold company that cares about money more than people company to work for.

    Pros

I loved working at Williams-Sonoma for the reasons that people enjoying going into the store. It is a very cozy and warm environment. The discount was really nice and applied to it's other brands as well.

    Cons

They had us climb on stock shelves after signing a document that said that we knew that we were not supposed to do so. It was all but required. The hourly wage was low but probably comparable to other retail giants. It was hard to move up into management. Five hour shifts, with NO break. Part time employees are the backbone of their company.

    Pros

Other associates are great to work with 40% off discount 20% off electrics Certain times a year 40% off electrics

    Cons

GM at my store is a complete liar, unethical and untrustworthy. She's never at work. AM does all work. Also it's difficult to report her because when you do the regional manager makes excuses for her or does nothing about it. And he's a liar as well. Competitions that they offer in store always benefit the general manager meaning associates do all the work but GM gets the benefit i.e. Extra money, gift cards and trips. Even with discount things aren't always the best price. People walk out of the store so much because things are so expensive. $50 for chocolate, $25 for cookies, $20+ for wooden spoons, $200 for a table cloth and they keep increasing prices every year.

    Pros

Excellent discounts, nice co workers, beautiful atmosphere, learned much about products

    Cons

Sales people had to do ALL housekeeping, stockroom was full of ladders we had to climb to get merchandise, shifts were poorly managed...schedules written very late so no time to plan your life. No permanent shifts, unclear and no support for finding substitute, management of store was unreasonable with pushing sales associates to make goals.
