      Pros

Paychecks, offices are generally clean and have some kitchen supplies.

      Cons

Limited growth opportunities, upper management lacks leadership, vision, people management skills, only focus is increasing productivity at expense of losing talented people. Little direct communication on company direction, instead information is found through rumors/other teams. Many end up leaving due to work life balance/health concerns from over work.

Nice People but Leadership Can Improve

Jan 5, 2020 - Anonymous Employee in San Francisco, CA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

Great products, some fun people, discounts, people are generally nice Work life balance Despite my cons below, the work environment seems to be generally inclusive and pleasant

      Cons

Wants to be innovative but is old-fashioned, shareholder-driven, teams are siloed and some are too lean for teams to make much progress. Creative ideas are welcome, but your success depends on your team, how lean it is and if you're lucky enough to have a manager that supports you...otherwise you won't be set up for success at this company. Benefits are lacking compared to other corporations in the Bay Area, but both employees and leadership reason "this is not a tech company" which just sounds like a careless excuse.

Good place to work, not many options for upward mobility

Nov 15, 2019 - Service Desk Technician in Rocklin, CA
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Overall good team in Service Desk, other IT teams are not as helpful or kind. - Great employee benefits and discounts. - Pay is good even in T1 position. -Company pays for professional development/training - Supportive team and work environment.

      Cons

      - You'll have to start off as a contractor first through a recruiting agency (Tek Systems), conversion to full time can range from a few months to 1+ years. Negotiate your pay with them as high as possible. Starting pay for WS employees is $25/hr. -Work/Life balance is non-existent, only leads get weekends off leaving only junior technicians to fend for themselves on the weekend. This leads to issues when high priority problems come up and there is no one to reach out to. Office is open 24/7 including Thanksgiving. Only Christmas day is given off. - Shifts rotate every 3 months, though favoritism in team can guarantee individuals keep their desired shifts over others indefinitely. -No Bonuses. - There is a heavy workload which is normal for Help Desk in general however, constantly shifting goals and expectations make it difficult to keep up with business needs and reach individual goals. -Not a lot of chance for upward mobility. -Too many people packed into such a small space, company NEEDED to invest in bigger office space over a year ago and the problem continues to grow.

Mature and professional hires. -Newly added 2 times a week WFH option and 1-full week of company-wide vacation time, in addition to standard vacation days. -Company is excelling and continues to meet demand and revenue goals. Pros

I worked for Williams-Sonoma temporarily as a seasonal employee and absolutely loved it. The training was straight forward and easy to follow, management was laid back and very helpful. Schedules were flexible and the hours promote a good work life balance. I believe the pay is fair based on the work load, and the employee benefits, like discounts are AMAZING!

      Cons

not much I can think of
