I worked at Willis Towers Watson full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Client work was rewarding and the resources to support the client were abundant.

    Cons

Corner office leadership changes frequently. Bonus pool is gerrymandered. Working with offshore team is difficult and unless you directly touch the revenue, you are at risk for being "skylined" - fancy consulting name for losing your job. And when you get promoted, it's due to someone else leaving and don't expect them to back-fill.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with dignity and respect. Transparency is needed. Don't count on the exchange and VB being the silver lining to increase top line revenue - go earn it with real growth.

I have been working at Willis Towers Watson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Generally a good place to work. Managers have a grown up attitude and are more than happy for you to work from home. Lots of good people to bounce ideas off of too.

    Cons

Latest salary and bonus review was affected by the merger between Willis and Towers Watson. Company didn't hit its targets so not much in the pot. Personally didn't get a rise but got a small (and I mean small) bonus.

    Advice to Management

Try to imagine what it feels like to be an employee being told that you have done well, met all your objectives, and in some cases exceeded in your behaviours, but there's no pay rise, just a token gesture by way of a small bonus. It doesn't give you much incentive to try any harder.

    Pros

Colleagues here are wicked smart and hard-working. Lots of projects, so you can get a broad experience. Exam program seems to be along industry standards.

    Cons

They'll tell you that work-life balance is important, but you need to make it a priority on your own and may receive push back from consultants. Benefits are good but salary seems to be a bit on the low side with what is expected for actuarial positions.

    Advice to Management

Walk the walk regarding work-life balance.
