I worked at Wilton Brands full-time

    Pros

All new senior management that are taking a great historical dominant brand and making it exciting and relevant again.

    Cons

There still exists old timers who want the business to be run like it was in 2005. They are being worked out but it takes time.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward, seems like the company is on a much better track.

I have been working at Wilton Brands full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to start a career, a lot of change happening that I am really excited about, broad amount of brands and products to work with. Benefits are ok but have room to improve. A lot of potential for growth. Starting to see benefit from investment in employees and working with a wide range of people

    Cons

culture seems divided still there is a lot of negative energy during all the change that makes people uneasy. Has been a lot of turn over recently in upper management and talent retention isn't a priority. would like to see more talent brought on who will improve skills of everyone, rather than maintain people who aren't actively present at work and just going through the motions.

    Advice to Management

continue to have open communication and provide more support as a management team across the board. Being aware of trouble issues and helping with them rather than ignoring things until it is to late and people leave.

I have been working at Wilton Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Wilton is a recognized brand that has a popularity and line of products that has stood the test of time. Lot's of change happening currently which has resulted in some upper management leaving and the shaking up of certain departments. New management that has come in seems eager to make a difference and help Wilton grow back into the leader it used to be. Changes seem to be being implemented slowly, but that is expected as nothing happens overnight. Increased company communication regarding sales successes, events, etc.

Great benefits package and work life balance. Moving to a new brand new office space in the Summer. Fast paced environment where there is always work do be done. Sometimes there is a feeling that you are being overworked but nothing that is unattainable.

    Cons

Some more tenured employees are stuck in their ways and not as adept to change as a lot of the more recent additions to the organization are. Change is hard, especially when you are used to doing things a certain way and I think some employees are not as excited about the 'newer' Wilton.

    Advice to Management

Continue to make sure your employees feel valued. Timely communication regarding the successes the company has had due to the changes that are being implemented is necessary in order to keep the employee population engaged and excited.

    Pros

Previously was a great fun place to work. Great employees and enthusiasm for the company.

    Cons

Communication. No loyalty to employees no matter how long their tenure.

    Advice to Management

Start treating everyone fairly. Don't always listen to just one person's opinion. Bring back the fun since that is what the company promotes with their product. Make employees feel appreciated. That doesn't cost a penny.

I worked at Wilton Brands full-time

    Pros

Summer hours, free samples and tent sale perks are about the only things good about working there

    Cons

If you like being in a toxic work environment, then this is the place for you. The buildings are run down, management doesn't care about their employees and the technology is ridiculously outdated. All departments work in their own silo and there isn't much collaboration which makes for double work across the board. C level execs lie to your face and feed you a bunch of garbage to keep you interested, but in the end you can't trust anybody. If you're not in the inner circle or don't agree with their ideas, consider yourself black listed, and you should start looking for a new job.

The leadership of the ecomm and digital team is a JOKE. It's 2016 and they still don't know how to run or invest in their own websites. They don't do any work based on ROI, just "ideas" & theories. Avoid this team at all costs.

The NY office is also full of some of the worst ideas and rudest people you can imagine. There aren't any data driven decisions from these groups, just a bunch of theories that they HOPE will work. And when these ideas don't work, nobody claims responsibility. Par for the course for this organisation.....

Good luck to you if you plan on working here since the present employees are all looking to jump ship.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring your friends & continue to not listen to the people that actually do some real work. You're doing a great job of blowing smoke

    Pros

Great products if you like to bake and throw parties. Nice CEO. Annual tent sale. Half day Fridays!

    Cons

Management plays favorites, department (inventory) uses outdated equipment and software, absolutely no direction, high turnover, no modern feel to the company.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, seek out the potential in each one instead of playing favorites, and listen to those who "work in the trenches"
