I worked at Wilton Brands full-time

    Pros

All new senior management that are taking a great historical dominant brand and making it exciting and relevant again.

    Cons

There still exists old timers who want the business to be run like it was in 2005. They are being worked out but it takes time.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward, seems like the company is on a much better track.

    Pros

They really care about their employees. Summer hours are amazing, and they are really flexible for people with children.

    Cons

A very large company to work for. Some people probably wouldn't like this, but they are very successful.

    Advice to Management

We love getting email updates from the CEO. Maker him very personable!

I have been working at Wilton Brands full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of professional development, opportunities to learn, great folks, several locations, open door policy, supportive environment. Paid time off to volunteer, nice benefits, summer hours, rewards and recognition throughout the year. Lots of creative types, relaxed atmosphere but strong teamwork-oriented.

    Cons

Growing pains within the company as we work toward implementing standard procedures and best practices. Some culture clash around the same issues, but great opportunities for those that can find a balance between the two and see the way forward.

    Advice to Management

Inter-department relationship-building should be addressed and emphasized from the top down.

    Pros

Discounts on products. Summer hours. Casual work clothes. New people bringing new ideas and new ways to do business.

The process is slow but the new leadership is already making a difference. There is more communication and transparency. Departments are working less in silos and getting better at working together. It’s not perfect yet, but it’s heading in the right direction and employees seem to be happier than they have in a long time. Input and ideas are shared better and taken seriously. Those who can’t adapt to the changes move on & that is okay.

    Cons

    Change needs to happen faster.

    Advice to Management

Communicate as much as you can to your people. Really listen to input and let them know you're listening and update them. Share! Too much if you have to!!

I have been working at Wilton Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely the best group of people I've worked with.
Fun products across a range of customers
Driven to serve the customer well

    Cons

Need more people to manage the work load at times. Lots of moving parts. Lots of details to keep track of. Working on but still need to improve product marketing from traditional customers to newer markets.

I have been working at Wilton Brands full-time

    Pros

Great company for younger professionals looking to get good experience; you will learn a lot; opportunity to move up if you're smart and work hard; entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged; fun product, nice people; good culture; summer hours

    Cons

work life balance is not good- management will say it is important, but will do nothing to help you when the work load is consistently too heavy. Not surprising, nearly all of upper management and director level positions also work long hours and weekends on a regular basis; compensation is low for CPG companies in the area

    Advice to Management

the work life balance issue will prevent good people from staying and should be addressed

    Pros

Lots of opportunities if you work at it. Great summer hours.

    Cons

    Sometimes too much politics.

    Advice to Management

Jerry Levine never lead a successful merger and he never will. Time for a new CEO. Too much on himself and not the good for the company.
