I have been working at Wincanton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Health and safety taken seriously. I can only think of the fact that the company pays ok compared to other logistics company's.

    Cons

Management only care about themselves not the people. People and there jobs just seen as figures on a spreadsheet. No support, no care but quick to stab employees in the back for their own gain.

    Advice to Management

I get that figures are important. But you have some departments with zero engagement with there managers. Im lucky if I see my manager for twenty seconds a day... seriously.

I worked at Wincanton full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Staff shop very cheap.
    Free uniform.
    Subsidised canteen.
Good wages when they get your pay right.
    Close to home.
    Monday to Friday office job.

    Cons

My team leader didn't like how opinionated I was and basically pushed me out of my job and I had no choice but to leave with no job to go to. The company allowed this to happen.
Always paid me wrong and still owe me money now I have left.
    Not very approachable managers.
Limited training couldn't do my job properly and to a high standard.
    My advice stay away.

    Pros

Great job to start your career in HR, a lot of exposure to employee relations.

    Cons

Male dominated environment (if your happy to work within that environment then fine). Not allowed to leave the building once in side due to health and safety reasons.

    Advice to Management

N/A, was not their long enough. Some managers need training on how to encourage and motivate their team with people skills.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Wincanton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nothing very much. Its a job.

    Cons

Management obsessed with KPI's/budgets and uninterested in anything staff say whether this would improve cost base/client service or not and all feedback routinely ignored and rarely if ever heard of again.. Employees feel like just a number. Pay frequently wrong - in their favour of course. Fleet runs on adblue but no adblue tank on site and no bulbs or other spares either. Cant even provide working coffee machine or soap in toilets. Worst company I've ever worked for. Stay clear is my advice.

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff with appreciation of the work they do (regularly 55-60hrs a week) and treat them with respect not contempt.
