I worked at Windsor Fashions part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Experience in sales, Great hours if you show the work ethic, Many opportunities for advancement, Great employees.

    Cons

Pay, Rude customers, Frequent returns from customers mess up sales quota.

    Advice to Management

I think for the amount of work the employees do, which is more than most clothing stores, You should pay your sales associates more.

    Pros

Discount on cute clothes, that's basically it.

    Cons

The pay sucks. Management is not interested in promoting internally. Don't take this job seriously, there are plenty of other retail stores that will pay you what you deserve

    Advice to Management

Weed out your store managers that don't care and hire ones that are passionate about seeing the business flourish.

I have been working at Windsor Fashions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Generous Employee discount, Great compensation, Promoting from within, always new opportunities opening as the Company is growing and expanding

    Cons

Too much tasking. It's ok to change but they are wanting you to provide excellent customer service with their 4-step process. It is very hard to balance due to meeting deadlines as well as providing top notch customer service. Constant tasking takes away from the customer and being able to focus on the customer. Also very hard to control shrink when not given enough hours for proper coverage. Add more hours and lose less merchandise. For a company that is so LP driven there has to be better ways to reduce shrink. And I do not think that Windsor is a good fit for conversion, we are a very fast paced store with heavy foot traffic, we have a lot of younger guests who come in just to take pictures in the special occasion dresses then leave without purchasing. We also have whole families that come in for just one person and we can't accommodate everyone. I get conversion for more slower paced boutique like stores, but not Windsor.

    Advice to Management

I know it can be hard but just keep pushing and it will pay off. It can be very stressful and overwhelming many days but do what you can when you can. Focus as much on customer service as you can in order to create the Oasis that Windsor strives for. If anything do it because you love to inspire and empower women and make them feel beautiful

    Pros

Promotes Within, Organized, Trendsetters, Great Family-owned business, company contest that you can actually win, and goals are reasonable and motivating

    Cons

Very LP driven (but this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, just can be kind of overwhelming)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. The company is so positive and is moving in such a strong direction. I can’t wait to see what you do next! Thank you for listening to us at the store level, especially about what items of clothing to send us. It truly makes a difference to us as a store team and to customers

    Pros

Discount and select people you work with in the stores. That’s absolutely it. I have to keep writing because Glassdoor says so.

    Cons

Low payroll, over worked, low pay, horrible customers.
The VP is not paying attention to what really goes on in the stores and takes her DMs word for everything. Well why do you have so many horrible glassdoor reviews? Do something to change it bc clearly what you are doing is not working. You have managers who are manipulative, liars who would do anything to keep their job and nothing to maintain relationships with their managers (unless their friends with them-yup, special treatment is truly s thing) they do write ups based on option not based on facts so if a manger decides they don’t like you, and you’re not willing to kiss their butt and be a robot then you’re screwed.

    Advice to Management

Stop being on power trips, treat people with respect and listen. You don’t live up to your values...at least some don’t. Reflect on why your turnover is so high. That doesn’t have to do with anyone other than the DM it is their responsibility to create a culture where people want to stay.
