    Pros

    Awesome co-workers. Great Benefits.

    Cons

    Sales pushed, pushed, pushed, PUSHED

    Advice to Management

BACK OFF A BIT ON SALES and concentrate on customer satisfaction. Very biased management for promotions.

I worked at Windstream full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits and President's club trips

    Cons

Sales Leadership inconsistent and lack mentorship. Very limited upward mobility for top performers unless you are part of inner circle. Weak Channel strategy and leadership. No partnership between direct sales and channels which creates conflict. Field Sales Management spend 80% of their time handling escalations since service delivery organization struggles and lacks leadership.

    Advice to Management

Stay on course and quit changing the plan every year. Value your field management by empowering them with a Budget, Marketing dollars and complete ownership of both direct sales and retention. Too much duplication of management leads to confusion for valued customers.

I worked at Windstream full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Steady paycheck until you're laid-off?

    Cons

This is the most topdown and secretive company I have ever worked for, and shows little concern for employees. The Healthcare plan, while adequate before, in 2016 changed to "consumer driven" which front loads a high deductible on the user.

    I worked at Windstream full-time

    Pros

Large company with room to grow if a main location is in your area or your willing to relocate.

    Cons

Does a lot of restructuring which has caused people to always be in fear of future.

I have been working at Windstream full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work from Home; medical benefits did not increase in cost in 2017

    Cons

Windstream's corporate and marketing strategy is in transition; many employees are uncertain about their role going forward

    Advice to Management

Review current employee resumes, experience, skills for redeployment; continue to offer broader products and solutions to support customer premises-based system requirements; improve Scoping and Pricing process to assure profitability; staff so that workload can be spread for quality work effort and vacation time can be taken

I have been working at Windstream full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The culture and people are positive and upbeat most of the time. Management works hard to recognize employees that go above and beyond. Leadership does hear employee feedback and work hard to improve employee engagement and NPS.

    Cons

Its an "always on" company. If you aren't putting in 60 - 70 hours per week, and checking your email and texts late and early, you are not working hard enough. Resources are thin in and getting thinner but workload and expectations are increasing. No trade off no exceptions.

    Advice to Management

Reduce mass workload to more focused workload. Scattering buckshot is not an effective management style.. Choose Drivers and stay with those projects

I have been working at Windstream full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent team oriented environment. Great support throughout management structures. Strong Customer Service focus. Excellent PTO plan. Strong Diversity. Good Wellness plan. Decent Compensation.

    Cons

Employee Engagement emphasis is too narrowly focused and defined. Regularly fails to recognize or reward Top Performers. Health Benefits discourage seeking treatment unless it's catastrophic.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great Customer Focus. Try to refocus on being a Technology company. Benefits shift was too abrupt, painful and unexpected, we're still reeling. We need stronger growth in our segment.
