I have been working at Windstream full-time

    Pros

The give you a Paycheck for showing up to work
Easy to get a job because they are so desperate for employees

    Cons

Pay increase maximum is only 2% so don't expect a big raise
CEO says things on internal blog like - "This place is not a Prison" as in if you don't like things leave
    No room for growth
Managers will promise you something and then never deliver on it
As a Salary employee you are expected to work "Overtime" because to them its free money and you are expendable

I worked at Windstream full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

For someone wanting to learn sales, Windstream is good about giving young reps time to develop.
The people I worked with were fun, helpful and helped create a good culture

    Cons

Company does not care about customers - reflects in all aspects of their operations
    Company does not innovate
Company has no competitive advantage from any other CLEC or especially ILEC
Very difficult to sell, not much support but very high expectations
No chance for advancement, except for higher quota/title sale positions doing exact same role

    Advice to Management

Try putting customers first for a change. Listen to your employees. Try innovating rather than being followers

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Plenty of training opportunity. Fellow workers are wonderful.

    Cons

Have never seen a company that cares so little about it's employees. Treats field operations like something to be scraped off the bottom of their shoe.
If you have any self respect avoid working for these people.

    Advice to Management

Start listening to your employees. Almost all of your current issues would never have happened if you just valued your people's experience .Your people are not just tools to be used and thrown away at your leasure.

    Pros

The offices have hot and cold running water and the heat and air worked consistently.

    Cons

This company has no vision or direction. They can't stay on a path and see it through. Senior leadership is horrible.

    Advice to Management

    Executive management should be replaced

I worked at Windstream full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best reason to work here is you live in Little Rock and don't have any other options.

    Cons

When they acquired my company, they made a lot of promises, worked us to death to integrate, then let us all go a year later. Jeff Gardner used to always emphasize his "aggressive" strategy, and he was absolutely telling the truth. Aggressive, cut-throat, dishonest, and favor their good old boys and girls in LR.

    Advice to Management

Change course with your business model, your culture, and your respect for your employees, particularly those of companies you acquire. Have a heart while making difficult business decisions.

    Pros

Some very talented peers and select management have the right mindset.

    Cons

Little to nothing done to retain talented employees. Lack of accountability allows for less talented employees to remain there.

    Advice to Management

    Hold your employees accountable.

I worked at Windstream full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay was great, commission was great too thats what kept me around

    Cons

Constant changes being made, management is so lost, they rather fire and stress you out than help you. Is sad how many people look for jobs on their lunch break. I dont think anyone would like to be threatened every week. The literary drove me crazy.

    Advice to Management

Take it easy on the sales reps

I worked at Windstream full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Liked most of my co-workers but lots of the remote resource people were pretty clueless. Nice office but preferred working from home.

    Cons

15 1/2 years and they gave me 12 weeks severance and no advance notice! Capped our bonuses so no incentive to exceed goals. Horrible health insurance, no positive reinforcement, micro-management, and terrible internal systems

    Advice to Management

Go out in the field and see what is really going on out there. Get your house in order before you make more changes.
