I worked at Windy City Fieldhouse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

*Fun to work in sports and events.
*Some co-workers are great, hard working, fun people.
*If sales goals are reached for the year, they take all full time employees on an exotic vacation.

    Cons

    *Very stressful atmosphere.
*Lots of finger pointing and second guessing when anything goes wrong.
*Some co-workers get away with whatever they want while others work hard and still get blamed for anything that goes wrong.
*Other co-workers are just plain lazy and have no consequences for passing their work onto someone else.
*You are literally always on call unless you have approval to go out of town.
*Most equipment is old (floors, volleyball equipment, cash register, etc.) but are expected to be in excellent working condition by management, who refuses to replace or update any of it.

    Advice to Management

Invest in 2 things. Your workforce and your building. It could cause a major positive shift in morale and customer experience.

"Cool experience in team building, looks good on resume"

I worked at Windy City Fieldhouse part-time

    Pros

I held this job when I first moved to Chicago, getting to the site was a bit difficult because I had to take transit but I really did enjoy my experience working on the corporate scavenger hunts.

    Cons

Not exactly a high paying job by any means, minimum wage I believe it was. More for the experience and resume listing.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Windy City Fieldhouse part-time

    Pros

Great active work, company does a lot of business

    Cons

The company does not pay competitively for industry, takes advantage of employees with no chance to advance career, makes a lot of money which is funneled to owners, few other employees benefit, would rather be constantly training new employees than invest in the employees they already have

    Advice to Management

    poor business model

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Windy City Fieldhouse part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Work outdoors, and fellow part-timers are good people.

    Cons

Everything else. The pay is terrible (minimum wage), despite the fact that the client pays WCF an extraordinary amount per staff member at the event. The working conditions are a nightmare, and the on site manager make it feel like a gift if they give you a bottle of water on a 8 hour 95 degree day.

    Advice to Management

You need to be more visible and possibly speak to the part-time staff once in a while. Most of us had no idea who you were. I went out of my way to work a 15 hour day starting at 5:00 AM with one of the owners (with no overtime or bonus) and he didn't even remember my name afterward.

    Pros

good job, and environment enjoyed the community along with the people that i was bale to share ideas with

    Cons

weather was often a negative, no incentive to improve on my work

    Advice to Management

give employees more incentives to improve on their work, and allow for relationships to build to improve on team work ethic
