I have been working at Wingate Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I would say the pros of working here is getting to interact with the residents, having a great management team I can lean on for support, the flexibility they have and the location. THE MASSAGES EVERY MONDAY! Baked potato bar every other month.. The SOUP from the kitchen by Dawn.

    Cons

I think at some points we are expected to complete the impossible, but I feel like this is a common theme at most work places. Not ALL the time - just in crunch time situations.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! Never let the employees feel under appreciated.

I worked at Wingate Healthcare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Senior management is on vacation all the time, stealing is very easy.

    Cons

Too many to list...pay, culture, very old school, no new technology, odors in facilities, been on news recently, no one wants to work for wingate so there is never staff...

    Advice to Management

Your people are your customer, treat people like that and it will pay dividends...

I worked at Wingate Healthcare full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The best people in world to work with. We were like family. All with our own quirks but we were very close and worked as a team.

    Cons

Same as most NH settings, people who are lazy complained constantly. Granted at times we were all over worked but that's why its WORK. It's not play.

    Advice to Management

    None

I worked at Wingate Healthcare full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Residents and staff provide a positive human experience Facilities are well kept. Grounds are well groomed Parking on site is a benefit

    Cons

Senior leadership does not provide clear standardized direction to achieve goals. Strategic pathways change often and result in poor outcomes. Some of the senior leaders do not have the administrative or managerial skills to be an effective leader. Decentralizing promotes lack of standardization and results in less then adequate survey results There is lack of oversight

    Advice to Management

    Rethink clinical strategy

I worked at Wingate Healthcare part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you need nursing experience before entering the hospital, if you want to work in long term and are lazy

    Cons

Far below average pay, expect to have to stay for doubles you weren't scheduled for, lots of employees who not only don't do their job but REFUSE to actually work, no EMRs, housekeeping that could care less, and incompetency at every level

    Advice to Management

Care about what goes on in your facilities. You pay for what you get
