The last company I worked perm with laid me off, and I'm trying to decide the best way to word it. What I currently say doesn't elicit negative feedback. What I currently say: The company determined that they had an immediate need for someone with a higher-level skill set in my position, so they laid me off. What my spouse (who has been a hiring manager) recommends I say: The company decided to restructure my position, and I was assured it wasn't performance related. Thoughts? Thank you.
