I have been working at Winn-Dixie full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Decent pay. As a manager for most of my 18 years, the "old" Winn Dixie treated me well.

    Cons

The company is Winn Dixie in name only. While Upper Management will preach that customer service is first and foremost, the way they have gutted hours out of the stores and expect more out of their employees would say otherwise.

We try to provide the best customer service. When you constantly have customers berating you and telling you that you should have more help in the stores and all you can do is apologize and say we'll do better, knowing we can't, is frustrating.

    Advice to Management

I know we are owned by a private investment firm and they are trying to make every last Penny out of us, but we are trying to take care of our customers who make it possible for you to make your money. Not that matters to you, but we actually care about our customers and know what the need and want.

I have been working at Winn-Dixie full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you have a good management team, it can be a fun place to work. There is room for advancement if you put in the work.

    Cons

Overtime is a no-no. It is hit or miss among the different stores. Some have excellent teams and are great to work with, others abuse their employees and take advantage in any way possible.

    Advice to Management

If a good employee quits suddenly, particularly one who has previously been offered a management position, check out the management team. Chances are, something major has happened and needs to be dealt with from District because the chain of command goes right through the problem people and will get derailed before it even starts being investigated.

    I worked at Winn-Dixie full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with great customers. Used to be a great working environment.

    Cons

I recently made the decision to stop my employment with Winn Dixie due to the fact that they are laying off wonderful employees that have have their time and effort to help this company. I worked for the company for 3 years and started as a cashier then service associate then floral and deli manager. I devoted my time and effort to this company that once cared about their employees but as the years went on stress levels and management has gone down hill. Managers and employees are not supported and they are making major pay cuts and cutting positions through the store. Not enough hours and high expectations with no help. I will not work for a company that is focused on greed and losing good employees to give everyone new shirts every other week. Customers are not happy at all anymore they can also tell the terrible changes that are happening. I won't even shop at Winn Dixie anymore. I am saddened that I wasted three years with a company that no longer cares.

    Advice to Management

Hang in there store directors and DM' s my hat is truly off to y'all with all the awful changes to the stores.
