I worked at Winston-Salem State University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to grow professionally
    Great work/life balance
If you are a self-starter you have plenty of room to experiment & collaborate with colleagues
    Campus is a family-like environment

I have been working at Winston-Salem State University (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy the flexibility my current position offers but mostly the ability to mentor and assist students as they matriculate through the WSSU system.

    Cons

Raises and pay increases are slow and subject to current NC government official voting. This is the downside of state employment.
