I have been working at Winter Haven Hospital full-time

    Pros

Great paid time off, but not much else. There is always overtime opportunity for someone who needs some extra cash.

    Cons

Under staffed so one is overworked.

    Advice to Management

    Get more staff.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Winter Haven Hospital (Less than a year)

    Pros

Honestly the only pro to having this job is the pay. It's higher for the area but overall is still low

    Cons

Management is my main problem with my department! They make the techs feel like all of our hardwork is pointless because it's never enough and everything that goes wrong in the department comes back to the techs. It's almost like pharmacists can do no wrong here!

    Advice to Management

Well being that management is my problem I don't have any advice to give them. But I would defiantly love for them to be replaced!

Really enjoyed my job & the people I worked with.

    Cons

Was in need of more hours

    Advice to Management

Try to accommodate employees that have been loyal & enable them the opportunity to get more hours or become full time as a possible float

I worked at Winter Haven Hospital (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Used to be very patient centered, small town community hospital where you felt like you were working with family. Now that Baycare has taken over and made many changes, it doesn't feel like that anymore. Coworkers are the best - they are in the trenches with you, at least when it got rough, you knew you weren't alone.

    Cons

Again with the merge with Baycare, many changes. Higher expectations, increasing demands on the nurses. No real acknowledgement for a job well done. High department turnover due to the attitudes of managers who act like they couldn't care less about you as an individual. Short staffed often but demands remain the same.

    Advice to Management

Get out there on the floor and try it for yourselves sometime, maybe you could then appreciate your staff a little more. You answer one light in the course of the day and act like it's not that hard of a job....and then ask the nurses for that patient why they didn't get to the light, never considering the 6 or 7 other patients they are responsible for.
