I have been working at Wipro as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    None I can think of

    Cons

Managers barely speak english and do not care at all if something tragic happens in your personal life, they just want you at work, no matter what.

    Advice to Management

People have families, things happen beyond our control, we are not all just trying to get out of work. Stop micromanaging your employees day to day

I worked at Wipro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They give you a paycheck if you work there every two weeks. So that's a good thing.

    Cons

Everything else. Terrible management, never tell the truth to their clients. Never tell the truth to their employees. Terrible work/life balance. Clients hate the company, company isn't willing to make changes to fit US culture. This is where you go when you need a check. If you can find another opportunity, you will be happier. Very abusive environment.

I worked at Wipro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you are someone they need at a client's site, and you can do something no one else can do, you are generally left alone except…

    Cons

…for the endless emphasis on closing tickets (even if the problem isn't solved), the impossible to navigate employee portal, the mandatory testing that takes days (not hours) to complete and that you are always hounded about, the fact that your manager and you may never meet/speak/IM or email yet this person is responsible for your review and that all of this is just the tip of the frustration iceberg.

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to be the Wal-Mart of IT. You are doing a disservice to the clients and all of your talented employees leave at the first opportunity. Try promoting someone other than Indian nationals to positions of responsibility.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many technically talented people who are very dedicated and conscientious

    Cons

Terrible bureaucracy, zero work life balance, treat you like a number not a person. Beware!

    Advice to Management

The company's performance continues to slide. Maybe you need to re-evaluate your strategy. The high turnover rate should be telling you something.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The training offered by Talent transformation is very good.
Clients value your work. Flexible working hours depending on the clients.

    Cons

Salary is below industry standards. Managers do not appreciate your work and very manipulative. No monitory raise even for a high performed employee.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the client reviews and appreciate high performers with atleast an acceptable monitory raise per year or else you will loose good people. Value employee's opinions. Train the managers well with people skiils.

    Pros

Friendly peers. No other reasons on pros

    Cons

Too much change. No respect for service lines folks. Very poor compensation structure and very poor increments

    Advice to Management

Cut your bulky salary first as an idea to reduce cost and change.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Salary....maybe but you have to fight for it and they still use stall tactics and offer you wrong amounts hoping you'll just give up on the negotiation

    Cons

If you are a U.S. Citizen... everything. They spell your name wrong then you have to contest with Homeland Security that you are a U.S Citizen, even though you provided MORE proof than was necessary when hired. Deceptive offer practices including shady negotiation and mis-information. Lack of response regarding salary disputes, benefits and PTO questions. They are disorganized and lack the competency and understanding of U.S. work culture. If you're an IT professional and your department gets taken over by Wipro, watch out. If you're lucky enough to switch over to Wipro, your colleagues will not know how to do anything. If you're salary, you're expected to work more than 40 hours a week for the same pay, but when your client company has designated holidays that aren't on the Wipro calendar you're forced to use your PTO to cover that, or come in to work for no apparent reason. STAY AWAY FROM WIPRO...OUTSOURCING DOES NOT WORK!!!

    Advice to Management

When you take over a large company's IT department...make sure you are prepared and know what you're doing.
Don't promise a seemless transition then send the few retained IT people through the ringer just to make sure they get paid on time.

I worked at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing I think about after knowing the policy of it's competitor.

    Cons

Many ... They don't treat employees well. Also they treat ex-employees very badly.
You won't see this kind of culture (worst) in any other Indian company. Management I worked with are opportunist and they don't remember our contribution once you left them. Exploitation of is the main goal to achieve maximum profitability.

    Advice to Management

Management should look into their exit policy and issue all the ex employees experience letter without any hesitation.
If you are BIG then you should do something BIG for the sake of your employees and ex employees.

    Pros

None. There are no pros. You will loose you family life and family will start loosing you. Horrible company!!!!

    Cons

Have so many good policies but they use all wrong way to harass employee. Unnecessarily keep employees in pressure with bonds and long notice period so that you cant jump to the next company.

    Advice to Management

Stop exploiting employees by saying good job and gaining money on peoples blood.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    No reason as of now.

    Cons

All employee benefits have been cut off. Maximum leave accrual has been restricted per year. Insurance plans offered are very costly to employee(mostly cheaper for employer).
No proper utilization of resources for assignments.
Excessive work pressure on employees, unsatisfied customers.

    Advice to Management

Compare your employee policies with competitors and make employees happy which might get back this company in race.
Stop cheap cost cutting like keeping a cap on maximum leave accrual and giving costlier insurance plans.
